Hello everyone, I'm a long time lurker but first time poster.
I'm currently running my Winchester at 280*9, se image for details (http://home.tiscali.no/geforced/sys1.jpg).
These settings appear to be both prime\superPI\CPUMark stable, they pass Memtest 86 without errors and will give flawless performance in games. However, my computer locks up and leaves me with a bsod on these occations: upon loading a torrent with torrentstorm and when installing applications (last time it happened was while installing 3Dmark 2005) Lowering the htt down to 260 would solve the problem. My only sata disk is connected to sata#4, could thus be a IDE\sata bus problem? Any tips for reaching stability would be much appreciated!

what is your HTT multi? Sounds like it is a hard drive issue since it only happens on torrent/install. But if so there would be problems opening apps, OS corruption etc as well. Don't know sounds strange. How long did you run prime95 and did you run the large inplace FFT test for max heat and power consumption?

Did you try another Windows Install maybe ? Might be some software conflict somewhere.

what is your HTT multi? How long did you run prime95 and did you run the large inplace FFT test for max heat and power consumption? HTT Multi is set to 3x.
These are the tests I've performed on the current clock speeds: Memtest86 1+ hour. Prime tests (SP2004) testing both memory, CPU and both. Each test ran about one hour. May not be enough to warrant a prime-stable status, but should indicate at least some stability.
Did you try another Windows Install maybe ? Might be some software conflict somewhere. Maybe you're right. The bsod is of the machine_check_exception kind (0x00...9c) Reinstalling windows isn't the frst thing i'm gonna try, but I guess that may be the only way. :/

I cant remember very well, but SATA 3&4 on nf3 motherboards (not sure what is yours) or maybe SATA1&2 doesn't have lock, so when you push the htt it may cause you some problems :( Try changing the SATA connector of your hard disk, I hope it will help !

I find that the nForce4 boards don't like much more then 1200MHz total for the HTT, if set in the BIOS NV's tweaker gives more but i don't think it increases it really.

safest bet would be a format just to completely rule out software related problems then go from there

I run 24/7 with HTT 456Mhz, LDT 2.5 and SATA1. It no have problem with SATA1&2
on nforce 3 mobo's the locked ports are 3 + 4, however on nforce 4 all sata ports are locked, so i dont think thats the problem, however it does seem strange the bsod's only occur when doing hard drive intensive tasks, perhaps another windows install is the best bet
