I cant find any info on the mag5 really.. anyone got some solid numbers and stuff for them?

Also considering using two loops in one..

Loop1: MCP650 -> blocks -> res....
Loop2: Mag5 -> rad(s) -> res...

Mag5 will just be for circulating water through res and rads basically.. or I wonder how they would do in series? hmm..

for series use its just better to use the same pumps.

much agreed with calume.. running two different pumps in a setup woudl not be a good idea.. not sure how you would do it not in series...

seperate loops.

Diff pumps in series might not be bad, depends on the pumps... maybe the increased flow being forced into the mcp650 would allow it to pressure up higher?

if the pumps had somehwhat similar PQ curves it would be fine... like the hydor l30 and the eheim 1250 has EXACTLY the same PQ curve.. i mean its scary how close it is... those would be good together..

but a DDC and a IWAKI MD20 would be a BAD BAD BAD BAD idea...

how will it be seperate loops.. you got me on this one... got a pic or a paint image...

your first idea of the res and rads I think is good, except the mag5 is unnecessary, mag3 would suffice.

mag5 circulates water between res and rads (cooling loop) to keep it cool, mcp650 pumps the water from res through the system loop.

That said, how would guys like radless systems? ;)

The thing about adding a mag5 to a loop is the extra heat it adds would probably not be made up with the extra flow. I would guess the Mag5 will dump over twice the heat into the loop compared to a MCP650/D4.
