im new to the computer building world, my brother just recently put one together for me and raid will not run properly in slots 3 and 4 (closest to processor)
the computer boots fine up until it hits the window bars and it freezez and looks grayish/darkish.
so, i have my hard drives in slots 1 and 2...away from processor. the computer works fine and i can dynamic overclock...colonel/sargeant/bla bla bla. but sure enough it will freeze at least once a day. any front side bus raising and it won't even boot. if i mess with memory timings or anything else my results involve no boot or worse...taking case off and moving jumper wire up and then back down to get my shiz running again. btw, i dont know what the little wire is called, but it works when i switch it to the higher pins and drop it down.(little wire down near bottom of board) so im just running with bios set to optimized/stock with no overclocking, 2200.
so my main question is, how can i get my computer to boot properly with my hard drives in the right slots near processor to enable overclocking?
thanx for reading and i promise i can only get better.
