I'm kinda new to this forum, my first time in a real all-english speaking forum, but anyways.. Hello! :)

It all started out when i wanted a more silent system, with some better cooling, so Watercooling it was.. Where to put all the stuff? In a custom made case! - I bought the things when i had the money, so it took some time to build up(Yes, im poor :P)

But it came out good, the system specs are rigth now a Abit AN7 motherboard with a modified Tictac bios, and i have a Barton 3000+ that maxes about 2.6Ghz(warm mosfets), and because of the mosfets i run 2475mhz with the multiplier at 11x and front side bus only on 225(im a jerk at setting up my memory timings and voltages, but it will come) i got these 2 blocks of 256mb Kingston HyperX with BH5 chips on them, i successfully clocket them to the 225mhz with 2-2-2-11 on the timings(2-2-2-11 maxes out when i reach 240mhz, over that, they get unstable unless i loosen the timings).. i "only" have a Radeon 9800 Pro, because i cant afford a x800 rigth now, but a brand new system will drop in this summer! - Back to the GFX, it's gotta' R360 core, so i flashet it to XT and clocket it a little more from there(max @ 430/370 - think the voltages needs to be modded :P)..

The cooling is Asetek Waterchill, and i got the Antarctica cooler, which is modded, because i removed the P4 and A64 holes, because there were some capacitor's in the way, and it also looks nicer that way! For the chipset i just got the standard waterchill cooler and the same for the GPU, just with L-fittings! my watercooler is a Black Ice (only)Pro II, with 2 TT Thunderblade fans on it, and they are almost ALWAYS running @ 5v!

You might like to see some pictures, and thats whats the main thing of this Thread :P - Here you go:

http://www.caseworld.dk/muffe/atatx.jpg - I started out making a custom ATX backpanel for the AT server case i had.. Before and after picture!

http://www.caseworld.dk/muffe/cooler.jpg - The BIP II was build into the front of the case, and there is going to be a big vent hole i the front panel!

http://www.caseworld.dk/muffe/pic4.jpg - This is the new back panel, in use.. with my favorite standard fan-grills :)

http://www.caseworld.dk/muffe/ant.jpg - My Antarctica mod, the picture says it all!

http://www.caseworld.dk/muffe/pic3.jpg - and then the cooling it overall.. The tubing is blue Polyurethane air pressure tubing, specially designet for Push fittings in high pressure air systems, it can take some serious bendings! The resevoir is homemade, of a piece of cylinder plexiglass, with a piece of PVC drilled out on a (can't find the word) rotating tool.. Inside there's a Eheim 1001 pump :)

I somehow killed my Antec PSU at the last LAN-party, so now im using a Chill Innovation 510A, and its EXTREMELY quite(my pump is louder, and even that is pretty low-noise).. - So i have black sleeving now, its really looks much cooler in real life, and all my fans look wireless in the dark :) and oh yeah, one last comment, all my fans run @ 5v and is very quite to! Id like som Papst in the future, on everything, but these fans was VERY VERY VERY cheap :)

So ? Lets talk! :D

Edit: Oh my god, how could i forget this? The temperatures! :) This is not so cool, because most of you use fahrenheit and in Denmark its Celcius! I only got 1 probe and it sits where the hot water runs into the watercooler, and it says 23 degrees celcius when my computer is running full load.. CPU is monitered by MBM 5, but motherboard probes are kinda incorrect.. But its 28 idle and max 32 load @ 12v.. 36 load @ 5v..

What did you use to cut the waterblock lid? You've done a very nice job there.
Nice work, and welcome to the forums.

Nice work there. It looks very clean..

and you are very correct that the sensors arnt accurate at all... sadly they are not even a good relative temperature gauge..

BTW, we all use celcius here too.

I'll be putting temp probes under the heat spreader when i finally can afford a complete Socket 939 system, then i can read out some more accurate temperatures!

And for the Ant. block, i used a Dremel, and a thing i don't know whats called in English, but the hardest work, was polishing.. Very fine sandpaper and then when it was nice and even i used some Car polishing stuff, almost like fluid sandpaper, called Slipol! I'm also very happy about the outcome.. just not so happy that i have to buy an all new plexi top from Asetek(The only place they sell the plexi top itself) when i get a new system.. i'll be doing the same mod again, but this time removing the P4 holes only!

DO not remove the IHS on the a64.. you will 75percent chance kill the cpu... I did it to mine and lost a cpu that would do 2.8ghz....

yes removing the IHS is very dangerous and has showsn no performance gains in most cases.

Muffe,

You do good work! Very fine job! Nice, neat and clean!
Congrats!

Okay, i've read about the chance of dammaging the core by removing the IHS, but now its confirmed.. i won't do it ;)

I know it's too late to save your current lid, but Asetek do sell a specific lid for those socket A boards where capacitors foul the lid so that you can save your standard lid for if you upgrade.
You wont have to do the mod again, you hav a small lid now, so if you get a P4 478 / A64 lid then you will be covered for everything except socket T.

Yes, i know that, but the lid was very expensive to get send, and my block was delivered with the Universal lid, so i moddet it myself, and it even looks better imo

Edit : Hehe, i don't even know what lid means, but i think it's the plexi top :P
