Ok guys. I RMA'd a 600w and got the replacement. OCZ's customer service is great btw, you guys rock. Anyways, the readings in my bios (and windows) are as following:

3.3 = 3.4
5.0 = 5.1
12.0 = 7.9 (YES!!! 7.9)

The LED for the 12v on the PSU itself is green (meaning ~ 12.0v). I'm in windows w/ no problem, seems to run super pi w/ no problems.

I have a ABIT AS8 w/ 560J. MY other PSU (antec trupwer 550w, does not do this in bios or windows).

I just think my bios is having an issue or something, i've yet to put a multi meter on the PSU itself and see, but its boots no problem so i figure its just a bug or something.

Any help???

if that was even 11v i think you'd be having problems.
blame the sensors.

Yeah that's what i think. Like i said, my antec wasn't doing this though. Just make's me wonder. I'm about tired of this AS8 anyways, i'm really wanting to try out a DFI board.

If you were to check the PCI-E connector, the shielded Molex connectors marked VGA/HDD and the standard Molex connectors you would certainly know what both rails are doing. I am sure you don't have 7.9v on the 12v line or you would be off and unable to even see those figures. Obviously your sensors/hardware and reporting program is having issues. Possibly the sensor is having problems with the 2 x 12v rails. This is very strange to say the least. Trust your DMM and performance.

+12v + +5v = +7v
got me thinking, maybe the 12 and 5 lines are crossing somewhere, or the sensor's using a +5v as a ground or something...

I just used a piece of cap tube to turn the PSU on, and measure the voltage's and they were all fine. I measured them right out of the ATX plug.

Getting 12.2 right out of the PCI-e connector and all the other molex's no problem.

It's weird i guess. You see my antec 550w never did this. The first 600w OCZ i had, was having problem turning on w/ the Overvolt protection turning it off. I had to crank the rails down low, boot them turn them up to normal value's....the bios when i did that never showed this.

But now this PSU is booting fine, just showing 7.9v in the bios which im sure teh Uguru software reads from the same measure point.

If ir runs, ignore it. I have never heard of any issue like this with our PSU or any other. Try running another hardware program if you can these days with uGuru.

I would uninstal uGuru, delete the folder it's installed in and re-install it. Then let us know if the issue is still there.

My 600w OCZ is very happy under full dually xeon load. Voltages are pegged and barely fluctuate at all. I am a very happy owner :banana:

Ok thanks Andy. Just a weird thing i suppose thanks.

Update for anyone interested.

I've had a multi meter plugged into a molex now and it hasn't budged once from 12.27 (stock out of the box :)) Winamp, mozilla and superpi 4m going at once and its not moving.

A pic below, still weird stuff though.

It's really weird, but don't worry about it if your pc is stable. It really is annoying I'd say...

with the ocz how are the 2 12v lines setup, mine was giving down to 11.7v in windows, is on a dual 6800gt rig but just wondering how the 12v rails work. is it 2 12v generating units in the psu that just push 12v on all lines, or are the lines split up over molex's, if the later is it just mobo connectors on one line and molex's/pci-e connectors on the other line?

also, its the loudest thing in my system by quiet a margin, and after turning the pots up to get just over 12v the fan speed also increased a little. the fans deffo load based and not temp based? i might chuck the 520W back in to power the pci-e cards fans and hdd's which should hopefully get fans on both psu's back to lowest settings.

Maybe switch the fan?? I dont think you can run the graphics cards with a different PSU. You can run the hard drive, cd-rom, fans, and floppies off a different PSU though.

before this 600W i was using the 520 with the 680w tt which was powering the gfx and basically everything except the mobo connections, worked fine on two boards i would assume it will work fine on this one too. switching the fan is a whole lotta effort, and i don't have any fans so would take a couple days to do. noise is driving me mad.

I wouldn't switch the fan, cuz it will void your warranty, and TRUST ME you don't wanna do that. I've RMA'd (2) PSU to OCZ and Sean and all them at OCZ have gone above and beyond to help me out. They have the best Customer service, i'd hate to give that up if you wanna change a fan out.

Can you email me with a link to this post? I would like to know what all you have in your system and what lines you are running your graphics cards on.

Thanks
