Hey y'all, as the title suggests, I'm a triple threat in that this is my first time with an AMD chip, first computer build, and first overclock. I've learned a great deal from reading through these forums and would like to thank you all for your insight. :toast: I was able to get to this point without posting yet ;)
Unfortunately, my newb persona is now propping out because I think I'm stuck in a rut. My specs are below in my sig and I'm currently stable at 2.475 (9x275). Seems like it performs better with the multi at 9 rather than 8. Attached are my timings and such. Whenever I try to hit 2.5 or above my pc just restarts by itself once I'm in windows and various benchmark tools fail or hang my system. My vcore is at 1.5 and vdimm at 2.9.
Can you guys suggest anything for me to try to up this baby into 2.6? I'm at stock air cooling at the moment and my pc under load is around 46 and at full about 60+. Of course this is according to ntune which I don't think is the most accurate. Also, if I need to up the vcore, should I get an XP-90 to relieve some stress on the CPU? It's an 0451 CBBID.

Thanks guys :toast: I'm thinking about the xp-90 but the 120 I saw from another post looks intense. It should clear with my memory right?
Flint..
It will clear your RAM no prob. The xp120 is nice cause of the big (Quiet  ) Fan.
CBBID 0451's are pretty crappy though. 2.5 might be your limit on air.

give it 1.7v, that might help a little. ;)

Just ordered the 120 with Panaflo L1a and arctic 5. Hope this cools her down a bit. Thanks but I did have it at 1.7 but my stock hsf kept going crazy because my temps wouldn't go below 50.

Quick question  I have the FSB at 315x8 and can pass memtest looped 2x but I fail prime with a hardware failure. Right before it fails, my cpu temp jumps over 60c and the fans spin at full. I can run superpi 1m and 32m without a problem.
Does this mean that my cpu temp is too hot so I can leave my mem settings intact? If so, my new xp-120 should help?
