Is there a limit to the Ampage draw, for fans that I can hook up to a Mach II Chillcontrol?

I want to use some larger and more powerful fans to cool off a Mach II unit, and am unsure what limitations the chillcontrol has, as to the current draw of the fans hooked up to it.

The specific fan I currently have in mind, is a very large 6-3/4" Comair Patriot, that draws 1 Amp when on 24V. I am unsure of its current draw on 12V (these work really well on 12V apparantly, loads of cfm with near silence).

If this single fan draws too much current for the chillcontrol to handle safely, is there any conceivable way that I could hook the fan up, to start up when the Mach II does, before system boot, without using the chillcontrol?

I want to replace both of the stock 120mm Mach II startup fans with this one big fan, but will still have the stock 120mm fans blowing through the enclosure, just set up to start with the computer instead of on the chillcontrol (the stock fans will be undervolted for less noise).

I have space in the enclosure I am making for the unit, for such a large fan. As these fans are silent, yet ridiculously powerful on 12V, I would much rather use one of these to both get better temperatures out of the unit, and also reduce the noise of operation.

To hook the fan up, you could use a 12v power adaptor from Radio Shack and buy the 6" power lead/ adaptor. For your chillcontrol question maybe one of the more experienced members can answer that one. :fart:

I am very intertested in this as well. What is the limit of the Mach II fan chill control? I tried installing some Delta 12V 120CFM .90A fans and the chillcontrol wouldn't turn either one of them...not even for a second.
