Phone for grandma

Hi all.

My grandmother has had to move into an old peoples home as she cant look after herself.

The room she is in does not have a phone in it.

We were thinking about getting her a mobile but she is VERY VERY VERY bad at using anything technical.

She could just about use her house phone with presets for numbers (press a key and it dials for you)
She cannot use a simple CD player, and has trouble dialing phone numbers herself. She can do it, but types the wrong number and finds it confusing when the person who answers has no idea who she is...

Does anybody know of a mobile phone that is VERY simple... or can be made simple by modification.

I dont hold out much hope myself, but you guys might have seen something.

There are many phones that support voice dialing...you would need to help her record the names (she would have to speak them) then when you need to redial...you press one button and say the name...the phone then dials the number associated with the recorded name.

there are cell phones for kids that can only dial one saved in number (number of parents originally)

try to find one of those, i think they only have one button too and have 2 leds that flash when a call is comming wich would be perfect :)

ive only seen it on tv 2 years ago though, maybe they are not on the market yet, but check for them :)

That would never work.

We would never get the voices programmed into the phone.

You should into older models, they didn't had so much stuff as the phones now and we're pretty simple to use, plus they were big so the pad was big too

i think there are plenty of manufacturers that use that same concept to build senior phones
