OK, now when i got my 3500+ Winnie and my DFI nf4 up and running I'd like to overclock. But the thing is - prime wont go past the "Test 1". I mean normally it takes a while then it does test 2, test 3..... and so on. But mine's just stuck. The computer is working hard and the ram too (corsair LEDs) as if it was running prime like normal. But it doesnt go past test 1, I dont get an error and when I stop it, it says there are no errors. I mean running Test 1 for 47 mins IS strange. Got any ideas?
I want to use prime to tell if my OC is stable. As I always do....

Yeah, so do I actually. Before it used to be fine, now it's pretty srewy. Iøm guessing too much OC on my lousy A64 though. Normally it takes about 5min to do test 1, now I had it running for 37min
I'd put my money on too much OC thoúgh, perhaps two OS installs (server2003/XP Pro) on one HDD though different partions arent helping it much either.

had this problem too...mine would just be stuck in test 1 for long periods and also my hard drive would be working very loudly (not sure why tho)
soon enough one of my mem dimms died on me :)

Same here, mine will eventually go onto the next test. I've heard that 64's don't like Prime that much, maybe it was just the Winchesters that didn't like Prime. I forgot, but I know it was something like that. Prime is still doing its job though if you don't see it moving, it will still tell you if you get errors and what not.

In a pop-up window when you choose type of stress testing, don't choose BLEND but just choose Custom... change only max memory tested by Prime95 to about 800-850MB... report back ...
EDIT: or download Prime95 v2.46, which does it by it self... it sets that value to 767MB if I remember correctly...

yeah, i would have that problem if i forgot to change how much ram prime used.
general rule of thumb seems to be prime95 + 1gb = :stick:
