Got new board.
Installed XP PRO SP1A

Following install, did reboot.
Got XP Splash

Then straight away BSOD

STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBF835603, 0xF79DE600, 0x00000000)
***win32k.sys - Address BF835603 base at BF800000, Datestamp 3d6de5e5

Beginning dump of physical memory.
Please try and help me with this. All h/w worked on my GA-K8NXP-9. I'm concerned something may have gone wrong with whilst in the previous SLI-DR which was RMAd.

My PCI modem AND the AUTO timings was my problem. Now it works fine.
Just changed timings from Auto to 2,5-3-3-10 in BIOS and took out my PCI card while installing.

All I've got is a USB card reader plugged into a header and my X800XPPE.

Not other cards at all.

Ok .... run memtest86 off bootable floppy.

Gone through 3 full test cycles.

On each cycle in test 6 -
On test 6 at circa 8 min 50 secs –

(Modulo 20, ones & zeros, cached ?)

Eg

TST 6
Pass 0
Failing Addr 0003f7dd89c – 1015.8MB
Good 00000000, bad ff0000ff
Err bits ff000000
Count Chan 1

There were a total of 1617 errors on this test. Only certain patterns were affected

Finished rest of tests ok.

Any ideas -

I'm worried about mucking about with voltages as I've never had to do this on a board before and I'm not planning on overclocking any time soon.
I'm also concerned about upgrading the BIOS as DFI manual says you won't be supported on Beta BIOS.

Has anyone had similar memtest errors before ?
Any other ideas ?
