LOL... just flashed 2/09 yesterday.
Oh well, time to flash again. ;)
Thanks!!!
4708 is only good with certain brands of TCCD, AndyT and myself have been posting info regarding TREF for a while now on the OCZ support forums.
If you use 4708 with VX you will have to pump a lot more voltage to get a stable rig, just by setting 0648 etc even with the older bios files the VX will run faster.

Yes
out of topic..
If those who still have issue with newer NVMM from 2.09,
I just talked with OSkar, he is working right now for a newer beta bios, I will confirm that as well and post here.

Bigtoe, is there a special Tref setting that runs best on VX? I (and many others) so far have been using either 3120 or 3072 for the best results.

Well, my new VX still errors in windows but not memtest @ 240 w/ 3.4V. This finalizes that I have a bad kit.
Nice bios tho, the memtest feature is ver nice.

will this help all utt or just vx. i have vx but couldn't use it because of the extra voltage requirements and the fact that i can't use the 4v vdimm setting with a zippy. i have some utt that works with lower voltage so i'm wondering if it will work even better...
@opb, what is nvmm anyway?
mrlobber
02-17-2005, 12:10 PM
Well, just flashed and tested quickly. At the first moment, it seemed that finally I'm able to use more than 3.4Vdimm and get memtest stability (previously - errors at any speed if using more than 3.4 Vdimm), but after 5 minutes the errors started to pop out again. So no extra clocks or added stability out of it there for my combo.
Still, keep up the good job, Oskar! :toast:

What timings are you running and what CPU do you have? One timing set wrong will make the board choke on any RAM not just VX.
I can try and help you with e screenie. Must know what CPU though.

Yep, winflash, version 1.74, you can find it in DFI's beta page.
eh, i' just flash with awdflash, always have done it that way, and i don't trust windows to do the flashing for me, because i want to keep my settings the same, so what if i crash when i'm updating the bios? not good.
good bios by the way. really glad they updated memtest.

From my experience, you can always rely on windows as much as you would rely on DOS. I've flashed my BIOS tens of hundreds of times from windows with numerous motherboards, always running overclocked, have yet to see a failed flash.
i'm overclocked to the edge sometimes. 5 minutes prime stable if you know what i mean. :D

@andy_ocz or bigtoe,
what's the preferred settings for dram strength and drive strength? i've heard one setting is good for tccd and the other for vx. also what's the effect of the idle cycle limit and timer. i ask because i've seen screenies of yours and others and it's not really consistent 16/256 or enable/disable. i've noticed that disable gives me better bandwidth benches but can't pinpoint its real world effect or its effect on stability. lastly, what the effect or recommended setting for twcl on vx vs. tccd.

I like to keep my CPU at its highest performance level, thats just around 3.4ghz. So until there is ram that will do 330-340 I am limited to using the 11 multi. But actually I got 10-15 overall increase on my FSB. :toast:

Umm, people who are having trouble flashing the bios have you uncompressed it? Cause thats the error message you get when you haven't! Use winrar or some such.
Alternatively, here is the uncompressed version! Link (http://premium1.uploadit.org/glorfy//NF4LD217.BIN)

i dont even know where to start with the bios for oc
here is a couple bh-5, xms3500's, w/1/25, ultra-d, 3500 90, I tried mush 512 LII 3500, and it takes huge 3.5v just to boot, but works 227@2.88 on nf2. I will remove these if you don't want them here.
