I posted this same problem on anandtech and still a no go :(
My system Specs
DFI NF4 ULTRA-D
FORTRON BLUE STORM 500W PSU
2x 512MB OCZ el platinum rev 2
Athlon 64 3000+
My mobo will not let me post in dual channel.
When I put the sticks in slots 2 + 4 it will not post I just get beeps and a flashing power led.
I have to run on 1 x 512 stick in the slot farthest from the cpui (slot 2)
But in CPU-Z my single stick in slot 2 is detected as slot 3 and When i try to up the voltage to 2.9v and run dual channel in lsots 2 + 4 It wont post still :(
I am using the 2.09 Bios still a no go
PLEASE HELP ME ANYONE!
EDIT the ram will run in single channel in slots 1+2 both sticks, but is clocked down to 166mhz when I checked cpu-z :(
sigh still no dual channel -.-
i've been putting them in the orange dimms. this board your not supposed to put them in successive slots.

I feel bad, you must have bad memory, i have the same memory and board and i have my memory at 550 ddr at 1T with 2.5-3-3-7 settings and i even got up to ddr 600 1T!!!! I figured that 550 was cool enough for day to day use. I have the original bios and have never had a problem since day one. I wish you luck, i do.

maybe the memory controller on my cpu = poo?
or my mobo is defective?? o.o...

I am not sure you are counting the slots right. The 2 orange are 2 and 4 period. That is the only combination you should be using. If that doesn't work, you need to try a different set of ram,. If they don't work, it's your board and RMA time. If they do then it's your ram and again RMA time. Unless you have some really funky timings set. Make sure you use very loose timings to start and don't overclock anything yet. Boot with one stick and triple check each and evry bios setting to rule out that. If you can't get other sticks to try, take your ocz's to a friends and try them in there dual. You may just have a messed up DFI. Good luck.

the lights stay at 3 lit up and 1 not lit up o.o
That is just cpu detected stage. The next would be 2 lights which is ram detected. One light is vga and finally no lights = system bootup.
yes, use orange and only orange, not sure why orange is 2 and 4, considering they are the 1st and 3rd closest to the cpu. but if orange is 2 and 4, then i guess you count the farthest slot from the cpu.

1) stick only ONE stick in slot 2 (i think it was 2, or was it 4 ? :) Anyway its the one FARTHER from the CPU socket
2) boot board
3) flash 209 bios
4) clear CMOS w/ jumper on board
5) set voltages, eg. 2.7 or 2.8 so it boots with the two sticks
6) put SECOND stick in
7) turn on
sticks ONLY in 2 and 4 which are the dark orange slots (not the yellow ones)
SHOULD work

Will do....
Have people gotten ocz pc3200 rev2's around ddr520 with 2.7-2.8volts on a ultra-d? or does the board still require alot more voltage for tccd?
Larry89

Well did what flexy said. Still a no go....
I guess its time to return this board back to the grimacing hellhole from wich it came?
Sigh.. spent about 2 weeks trying to get dual channel working... lol guess how life is...
both sticks of ram in Brand new condition, no errors at all it also came with the swanky new heated on OCZ label patch not the engraved thingy.
Maybe it is my cpu? I did have 3 or 4 bent pins before and i straightened them out and it worked. I was able to over clock to 275htt at a 1:1 ratio with my winnie 3000+ so I guess theres nothing wrong with the cpu..
I guess its time to return my mobo? just tested both sticks of ram in another computer (old hp desktop) both worked fine.
SO... yes or no... Mobo return? :(
Yeah return the mobo, get another one and try again :)

hrmm ein0 it looks like you dfi nf4 is on its way...
be good to the board and it will be good to you :)
thankyou everyone for your replies
When I get my new mobo I will try again and see if I can get over a 2.7ghz overclock O.O

hey ein0, after long testing and priming (well, still in the burn-in phase)...but i just finished some runs OCCT (great stability test program) and Prime95 w/ winnie 3500+ and two OCZ rev2s at 8x309 2.5 4 3 7 1T 1:1
iany higher and i get errors sooner or later (after hours) in prime...but 309/310 1T seems doable. Have them in DC (dimms 2/4) at 2.9V. Everything else is not stable.
Nice thanks flexy, i just dont want to void the ocz's warranty but still oc it a nice ammount so i guess 260x10 could have the vdimm still like 2.7-2.8v?
i guess you're testing on a ultra/sli-d right?

Hey, i think there is a chance that you bent the 12v resistor next to the 4-pin 12v connector. When i was building my board, i have the X-connect psu and the wires are thick as hell, when i was plugging in the 12v 4-pin wire, i bent the resistor next to it in order to get the wire to fit........when i went to power up, i got beep.......beep.......beep, ect... and the led lights had 3 lit out of 4 indicating that it didnt get past CPU stage. What was happing in my case was that because i bent the resitor, i wasnt recieving the 12v next to the main power connector. Well, i carefully bent the resistor back into place and i shaved down the X-Connect 12v power wire to get it to fit without bending the resistor and what do ya know, it worked. I got lucky though as the resistor was really on its side, and i was able to put it back without snapping it. I even felt it "sink" into the resistor as i pushed it back into place and now its in posistion and its hard to move out like the others....i got lucky, but that may be your problem. I hoped this helps.

I have my memory for everyday use at 550 ddr at 1T with 2.8 volts at 2.5-3-3-7 settings.

Did you here what i said before, i think its your problem.......read my post about the 12V 4-pin resistor....its right next to the 4-pin 12v connector. Im betting its bent out of place alittle. Just read my first post about all this, and tell me whats up.

Like i said, when i installed my motherboard i bent the resistor alittle bit and i didnt notice, when i turned it on for the first time, all i got were beeps and i had 3 out of 4 red led lights. I finnaly figured out that when i pushed on the power cord, it would work...briefly, thats when i figured that i bent the resistor and i put it back so it was perfect, and i never had the problem again. So, it sounds alot like what happened to me, id check more carefully. Im talking a little bend.....little......and thats all it took to screw me up. I cant believe i figured it out, it happened on pure luck!

Mine can do ddr550 2.5-3-3-7 at 2.6V
flexy

Mine can do ddr550 2.5-3-3-7 at 2.6V
for my sticks, the ones with the imprinted label (not sticker)...seems they like 2.9 (for two sticks) and 285-290 HTT 1:1 2.5 4 3 7 1T.
300 and beyond (had it up to 313) at 1T is nice but prime complained about an hour or so and i had to sacrfice 200mhz on the CPU. Now, i just lowered the FSB to 283x9, prime stable now for hours and maxed my (crappy) winnie out at almost 2600.
Edit: i would just up it to max. 2.9. If it doesnt do at 2.9...well i wont push more...but in my case it works.

maybe getting a new cpu since I can't rma it... I bent like 3 pins and straightened them -.-

The Memory seems fine... ran memtest on each stick for a few hours no errors...
im thinking I have a faulty cpu.
Or a F'ed Up mobo..
I think I'll Get a new winchester and see how that goes...
