Here is what I did with my SC18 CLX:

2,5 meters of .6mm cap tube
filled with R404a
two papst 4656 230V fans are blowing through the hx
The evaporator is from Loewe. Here is a big picture of them:

For more flexibility I build the hardware at the bottom of the phase change.
With my 3200+ winnie I only reach about 2920 stable @ -42.5°C load temp. I just ordered a 3000+. Maybe I'll have more luck with them.

Here are some pics:

I don't know much about building phase change, but I can tell you one thing...

I really like that "station". the way you made your "caseless" setup so organized  that's what i would like to do when I get my cooler done.

Job well done....

A shroud on the condenser would help a lot

slot load CDROM, cool. Nice job. What gas you got in there?

Are you at a LAN center or something?

One of the most organized caseless setups I've seen, very nice work.

Aggreed....

Yes but it's not a refrigerator......It's a phase change with TOO small evap......

What do you mean with a shroud? The outlet temp is about 1 degree higher than the room temperature.

A too small evap? Last year I cooled about 170W with them @ about -40°C on the evap.
Look at this article:

a shroud is like a box that makes that the air that the fans move is used all over the condenser and not only below the fans.

that will increase the efficency of your evaporator and hence it will reduce the pressure on the high side.

Thats true coyote. Although in this system, diamonddog has stated that cond. outlet is 1 degree above ambient, so the extra work of puting in a shroud would not really be benifical

ok I understand what you mean hipro5 but russel_hq is right. It wouldn't be necessary

It would if that makes it possible to run the fans for example at 7V instead of 12V and still have enough cooling.

Reducing the sound of a daily setup is always good, I assume that you use this cooler allso for daily use because it's "only" single-stage.

reducing voltage is not possible because these are 230V AC fan. For reducing the speed I need a phase converter (I don't know whats the word in english) to reduce the frequency down
