max i will bid for those is $300. They should hit 260 with tight timings easy given some juice. 3.5v'ish... bh-5 still king imo....

I assume you're talking to me.
I've done 240FSB at 3.4v with all those crazy tweaks that codered suggests with teh a64 tweaker. Got about 7200mb/s on sandra with my 2600mHz A64

My Corsair Value PC2700 BH6 does 260 with 3.4volts...fully tweaked on my DFI LP UT. :) 265 with 3.5volts.

I'd say just get the OCZ VX if ure using AMD 64... I get like 265 @ 1.5-2-2-5 @ 3.2v stable.....

and it's 1gb... not a crappy 512 of mem...
not to mention is always does like ATLEAST 250fsb 2-2-2...
rather than BH5 can do anything even lower

This is some current Mushkin PC3500 Level 2 (2 x 256) i had paired up with a A64 a while back. It was NF3 chipset board.

2X512 OCZ 3200 PLE (BH6) here, on a DFI NF4 board 3.3v=245 2,2,2,5 memtest for 6 hours.

3.6v=262 2,2,2,5.

I'm also twtr=1

Hey while I'm here! Would any one change any of my settings? Sorry for off topicness.

A64 Tweaker settings (http://premium1.uploadit.org/glorfy//A64Tweak.jpg)

I haven't actually used A64tweaker yet, all settings through bios.

Edit. Note the memclock = 166mhz, was just while I was trying out some high htt.

My apologies to all. I was unaware of the rule that banned advertising. All further details of the sale of my RAM will need to be done with PM's.
That said,
Skratch, it seems as tho BH-5 is the thing to have with the NF4. They clock a solid 20mHz higher (in general) from their same clocks in other boards.
In response to the other clocks- Due to my CPU speed and dividers available, I've not been able to run it past 240, simply because my CPU won't take it with any decent speed. I'm a gamer, so I want actual speed and power, not just benchmarks.
And for all you who keep quoting your speed with 1X256MB or 2X256MB, try playing a GAME on that. Sure, 512MB BH-5 is still the KING for benchmarking, but playing Doom3 or Hl2 on that little ram causes a TON of texture thrashing. If you're OK with it, that's fine, but in my experience, I hate slight pauses in my gameplay.

Im in the same boat as you,I dont know what to get.I need 1gb solid ram and don't want to spend the money on this bid to find out they top out at 240 later on.

Agreed there.... I can clock nearly 10MHz higher stable on the NF4 as compared to my Neo2 Plat... 20MHz higher would be 285 and the greatest thing since sliced bread... ;)

it does..

can go a little higher but not alot more.. 3.3v there.. i have a bad stick so its only 1 stick, 512mb.. single channel, hence not 29secs in superpi and 8000+mb/s in sandra :P

heres my results with 2x512 its L2 3200 at 287 (http://img196.exs.cx/img196/7769/287httstablish5cx.jpg) its a c0 too so thats at 1T command rate. I'm still working on the ram but my processor is giving me lots of grief and I've been on the road so much I haven't had any time to really sit down and seriously play.

Wow Smashy_Puppy...can we get an A64 Tweaker screenie? Also, what dimms are your ram in? And what driving strength and skew?

Smashy_Puppy
02-15-2005, 01:07 PM
drive strength 1, skew 128. i dont have a64 tweaker installed. its clocked back to stock right now too, running 3.6v to my ram makes me a little uneasy 24/7. oh and dimms 1&3. here is a64 tweaker (http://img86.exs.cx/img86/3514/a64tweaker5gk.jpg) the only difference is i have to run trrd=7 at 287 or i get memtest errors.

Wow, that is some amazing ram. Interested in selling it? ;) I've been wanting to hit 275 for a long time...gone through around 8 sets of ram...still can't do it. :(

I just noticed that smash puppy is using 7.5 divider. Doesn't this monkey your memspeed. I am pretty sure its not running as fast as it looks.

Do some benches to see.

7.5 multiplier? if so...yea, his ram really isn't doing what he thinks it is. That sucks.

Smashy_Puppy
02-15-2005, 01:33 PM
what bench do you wanna see? cause i dont have any installed right now. ill clock back up to 287 now. it may have to wait til later for me to bench though i have to pick up the gf from work soon.

EnJoY
02-15-2005, 01:35 PM
Drop the multi to 6 or 7, no .5 multi's and see if you can still do 280+.

Smashy_Puppy
02-15-2005, 02:13 PM
so .5 multipliers dont work properly? man i feel so stupid right now... sorry about that. i keep getting corrupted file errors loading windows im going to try to find time to reload before my flight tomorrow then ill try again.

well, x7.5 multi means that at 287HTT your sticks run at 270. this is still very good, especially when you show Prime95 screenie with it.
just to double check, try 270x8 and see if you still pass Prime95 and get same results in benchmarks... same CPU speed...

Yeah,

no disrespect. Wasn't sure how it calculated out but thanks to bachus...

270 is still tight for 2x512 :toast:

Guys, please ALSO post if you're using dual channel. Enjoy seems to not understand. With a MB/s bandwidth under 5k, that's most certainly single channel. I've yet to see BH-5 do 1gb in dual channel higher than about 255 or so. I'm sure they exist, but they are rare. Skratch, you're prolly looking at about 240, that's what mine topped out at with 3.4v. Sure, I could put like 3.7v through them, but that's not gonna happen.

3.4vdimm gives me 250 with 2X512 BH6, 3.5-3.6 gives me 260. 3.7 won't boot.

OMG!!!
Guys, no offense, but do you ever run any other SuperPi calculations than 1M ???
You know, although 257 looks impressive, but if that's all what you can run at it, then IT IS NOT IMPRESSIVE... show us at least some SuperPi 16M...

As long as they don't go above $250. BH5 ain't worth more than that these days.
