I went to my local a/c supply shop and they told me they had some small copper tube but it wasn't .028 or 7mm type stuff.

When phase change folks talk about cap tube sizing are they talking about inside diameter or outside diameter?

I don't know what to really ask for from the supply guy. They look at me funny because I don't speak the language or understand all the terms. It seems to me that the this stuff should be pretty common, but it has been the hardest thing for me to nail down.

BTW I will be using r290 or 404a with a 6000 btu air condition compressor.

A quick reply would be great since I am going to the supply shop in a few hours...

THANKS!!!

One last thing...

For a return line will a stainless steel braided water hose work? It has vinal insides I think. If not what about stainless steel gas lines?

I am looking for something I can pick up at the local Home Depot/Lowes.

Thanks again.

You would want 0.028 or 0.031 ID tubes:) 290-300cm of 0.031 is about the right lengt for any curent system with those gases.

HTe stainles gas flex line will do just fine but stay away from the vinyl hose.

Here is what Rparts.com said about thiers. Copper Tubing:
Our copper tubing is designed specifically for refrigeration use. It is cleaned, nitrogen-purged and capped. Full anneal gives maximum easy of bending. We stock full rolls (50') and 1/2 rolls (approximately 25'). Refrigeration tubing size is always specified by the actual O.D. of the tube.

What kind of Outside diameter am I looking for? No one sells it by inside sizes.

I may just end up buying from chilly1 or someone like him. This is getting frustraiting trying to find this stuff on my own.

If you will find real captube it is reported as x,xxx inches or x.xx mm of inner diameter. The 0.78mm cap(aprox.0.031 inces) is of 2.05mm of OD.

I just found out that johnstone supply is here in new orleans!!

I may have found my saving grace.

Once I get ready to assemble everything I will post a start to finish of my progress. This is my first time.

How do you post the pictures so it shows up in the post instead of as an attatchment??

thanks.
