When you run the cap line through the suction line to the evap where does it connect and go inside the suction line and how do you connect them, where and how does it get inside?

you can have it go inthrough a tee right after the suction. lardares shows it in one of his guides ;)

Thanks, I saw that in Lardarse's guide, just wasn't sure if that was it, just needed clarification.
edit: What is a desuperheater? What does it do?

correct me if i am wrong, but desuperheater is used when you have a cascade. Right after the discharge on the second stage compressor, the gas is hoter than ambient, so a desuperheater cools it back down a bit. This takes some of the heat off of the interstage hx and helps with first stage temps. Superheat refers the relationship between the temp and presure of a gas. With superheat, the gas is warmer than it should be given its current pressure.

Thanks, it sounds really cool too ;) .

From what i've heard, it is better to run your captube on the outside of the suction line than on the inside, it gets better contact with the evaporating gas -> more subcooling and capacity.

Do you mean when it is spiraled around the suction line or just going straight to the evap?

You get better heat exchange when the captube is wrapped around the outside of the suction line. The only reason you would want to run the captube inside the suction line would be if the evaporator was designed that way. For example - a baker18 block. ;)

I was thinking of making a block like that where the refrigerant would go from the center to the outer edge and up the suction line. Is the baker18 block better than the chilly1 spiral block? Just asking, I don't plan on buying a block. It is cooler to build one :D

chilly block comes with mounting stuff and enclosure.
