I am not sure if this is in the right section but here it goes.

I won't be building my rig till summer time but think there might be an opportunity to make a few quick bucks now that TCCD has been discontinued. I plan on buying one of the two mentioned kits and am wondering what you guys think would be a more resalable product? I am buying it primarily in hopes that it will become a gold mine such as BH-5 was. This is purely a gamble and I have already made up my mind to do so. If no other great oc'ing ram's come out I may just keep it and throw it in my PC when I build it although I'm sure something else will already be out.

I would like to purchase my ram tonight so quick feedback would be great.

Thanks,
Twitchy

I'd personally pray you can still find them in the summer, they stopped producing TCCD all together. BUT if you find the LE, get it, it's good stuff.

Let me clarify what appears to be a little bit of confusion. I plan on buying one of the two kits tonight, possibly tomorrow. What I plan to do is sell them when supplies run dry for a profit. Which of the two products mentioned do you guys think would be easier to resell.

Thanks,
Twitchy

Gig would be easier to sell. First off TCCD isnt the best for benching and that's about all 2*256 is good for. 512mb is good for an office computer but not for a good gaming rig.

yeah, may not be the best way to introduce yourself at XS. But good on ya for catching it. Welcome to XtremeSystems and enjoy your stay. :)

And the way I see it, more power to him for trying to make a buck. Oh, and I'd recommend the 1Gb of LE for sure. Generally OCs very well, held in very high regard by those in the know. Good luck.

Juliette 1T or 2T?

You insult me torin! 1T of course! This is with the "old" R.A01 board too! I think 2,5-3-3-7 will be possible! :D By the way, this 200kb limit is killing me!

I wish I could test longer, but my horrible winnie is killing me :(

The bandwith is quite nice, especially considering its "only" 2500mhz

Regards Dave.

I hope that the myth of "badly performing 1GB LA kits" will soon be busted!

Not trying to insult, you just didn't include an A64 tweaker or Sandra SS for me to find out on my own. :)

excuse? I had to buy the 512kit of LA since I could not find the LA kit in USA for a LONG time.. the 1gb kit came to newegg and sold out in a day and I missed it so I had bought a LA 1gb kit from euro 2 days b4 newegg had got the LA back in. Newegg auto notified me of LA 1gb kit in stock, I ordered it and canceled the euro LA 1gb kit.

I did not steal extra ram from you. I need the 1gb kit my friend. I play games at 312fsb x 8 = 2.5ghz 1:1 2.5 4 3 7 1T so I need 1gb of strong ram, not 512. 512 LA kit is working awsome but for games it does not cut it.

FYI, I posted saying there was 1 kit left of the 1gb LA so people like you CAN get that kit rather then a random non XS person! Sorry you misunderstood. )

I just got done messing around some more with the 512LA kit. Figured I'd find it's max b4 I get my 1gb kit wed.

Pretty crazy, 350x7 1:1 1T. I didn't think I was gonna get it 100% stable @ 350 due to before 2.09 bios ram over 2.8 was more error. But luckily going from 2.9 to 3.0 did the trick and 350 passed 20 of test 5 and a few of test 8 b4 I stoped it and went into windows. 3.1 voltage = no good. it really doesn't like that so I think I will stop at 350.

I pretty much get same exact sisoft scores as that ss above with 284HTT and 2.55ghz but this is because my CPU is weak and needs far to much vcore to get beyond 2.475 and then even in windows at 2.6 w/ 165 vcore it cannot pass prime and dies failry quick. (52c max)

here is a link to pic of desktop w/ cpuz/superPI/SG. I have no resize software on pc atm.

IE may resize it, just click resize button in right bottom corner.

Wow, 350MHz!
That's pretty sick, how high can you go with 2,5-3-3-7 1T?

I was doing 300 at those timings(2.5 3 3 7) a few days ago. I've done those timings @ 300 on both the SLI-DR and Ultra-D. I however have not done 350 on the SLI-DR.. yet... I plan to try it out today. I am back now to what I have in my sig but still messing around. I really got a feel for what I can and can't do now so what I'm really waiting for is the 1gb LA kit. I know it will be much less then 350 but I really need 1gb as this is going to be my 100% stable gaming machine :)

btw, even with the loose timings the bus increase @ same ghz gave me 13 more fps then 300htt and tighter timings in the VST(CS Source/hl2 benchmark, all high, no aa, trilinear, reflect world, 1024x768). I bench different then most as I am a competative gamer but I also enjoy this tech stuff too :P So while I go for max o/c I go for good stability also. 2 years ago I had 1ghz fsb 1:1 Intel 2.6 @ 3.25 b4 tomshardware did it and that system ran for 2 years and is still running behind me fully 100% stable! (cept now it sux compared to this LOL)

Are both of your DFI NF4's the same stability wise ???

KGarcia
02-13-2005, 06:32 PM
@ 300 and 312 yes. I have no tried the 350 settings on the SLI-DR as of yet. I will be doing this in just a little bit.

I originaly put the Ultra-D back in to see if it was more stable on CPU w/ higher clocks and higher voltage due to it reading 5-10c lower then the SLI-DR. I don't have the appropriate equiptment to test real temps but I have found that on either board my cpu was basicaly maxed at same and experienced same BSOD and problems at 2.5+ even with a ton of vcore. My winny isn't strong enough for me :(

I plan to put SLI-DR back in within the hour and test DDR700. If stable I will keep the SLI-DR and buy new CPU. If not, then I keep the Ultra-D. I will let you know :)

Just got my 1024 kit of LE in today and they are pretty. The week of production for the chips is 440. I ordered from newegg the day before they ran out and recieved them a day early

I also recieved my g.skill LE 1 gb. kit from newegg on monday. They have the 440 TCCD chips . I can do 285 at 2.5-3-3-10 but i can't go higher without errors in memtest. Even if i relax the timings to say 3-4-4-10 i still get errors :(. So i guess the mem controller on my 3200+ winnie is really holding me back. Right now I can't really do 2.6 ghz without pushing excess volts on the CPU. Does anyone know what the numbers mean from the CPU???

try 2-3-3-10 at VDimm 2,85-2,9 or 2-4-3-10

They like a low cas latency with high voltage.

BTW:

can you put up a cpuz screenshot with the SPD settings of your kit ?

Would appreciate it very much.
