hey every1,
with the order of my V2100, im definitely going to need longer cables, but the pictures are throwing me off...i cant tell if a 24 incher will be enough. ANyone have first hand experience with this or should i just order the 36" cables and tuck the slack away somewhere (the difference in price is pennies on the dollar)?

Going to be converting all my ATA HDDs to SATA and using that cabling for ease of wiring, and ill have a few optical drives on regular PATA cables

Have the V2100 myself, get 36" no doubt for all drives in the 12 slot area. 24" should be more than enough for those drives(like CD/DVD) located in the main mobo area :)

hmm. I had someone tell me on OCforums to get 24inchers. Whatever, its an extra $0.05 for the 3footers and i will never have to worry about it :)

Signal loss over a SATA cable? Will it really be that bad to run a 3ft cable?

for sata 1 meter is fine its within its rated specs. for pata 18" is the recommended maximum and personally for hard drives i wouldnt go beyond that but for optical drives 24" is definetely fine and 36" rarely has had problems in my experience

Well, ill give my 24" optical drive and my 36" sata's a shot, worse case scenario im SOL from bad advice and i return them and get the right ones
