My 3700 arrived yesterday and doing 2724MHz@1.55Vcore atm!

Stepping is CAAXC 0432XPMW

Someone here had a thread with that same stepping@2729 or something - will be nice to see how far I can push this baby!

I have a 3700 with same stepping - Rock solid at 3107mhz for everyday use and gaming :) Using single stage - I suspect around 2850mhz benchable on air :up:

At 1.55v that is an amazing overclock for a ClawHammer on air... how stable is it?
I can bench on air a bit past 2700 but only with about 1.75v.... only prime stable at 2600 with 1.75v.
Put it under some decent cooling :D

I doubt it. CPUZ detects V2.6 chips as 130NM and V3.1 chips as 90NM.

This is the crazy thing - the price has been@ ca 466€ for a long time and then just suddenly datorbutiken.se (swe) cut the price (the retail box!) with 40%!!! to 288€ - I did not hesitate one sec and bought it straight away!

About stability I have not gone into any thorow testing just playing around with it a bit to get to know the chip. I did both SuperPI 1M and mark 01 wth probs at 2724MHz and 2700MHz@1.55Vcore thus bot speed gave me bsod in win while doing a virus scan, probably need a bit more bios and Vcore tweaking there - so now I am@220x12 and gonna work slowly from here (first making sure this config is 100% stable!)

My mem is very picky (BH-5) even eith high volts and I am having problems being stable@240fsb 1:1!

Any specific tweaking tips is welcome and oooo do I want a vapochill LS for this one:)

A "tweak" you want to do-- Pull of the IHS and replace the thermal paste - If you dont like to have an expoced core mount the IHS back again - Gained me a good healty 60mhz in overclock - stable that is :)
But be carefull - I was unlucky to crack of a 1mm of the core (looks really bad on the cpu) but somehow I was XTREMELY lucky cause that poor bas**** still works - Better than before :up:

How did you crack the core? By just putting a heatsink on it? Is it that fragile?

No when removing the IHS the knife stroke the core and afterwards my hand cutting a deep cut into my finger. Funny thing is I´ve done that before :D :(

I checked that website and it seems to be back at ~€461 again?


Anyway a few seconds ago I checked the price over here and it has suddenly dropped by €112 (from €440 to €328). :D
