Hi, have calmed down now.

Here's the issue, new A64 3500 keps booting into Windows at 1004MHz? Clock Gen will change that to 2200MHz even 2400MHz, BUT where exactly do I place the memory for dual channel in this board? I tried Green and then Purple (which would be normal for every other mobo) but JNAv says place the sticks in the first two slots nearest CPU which would be 1 & 2 Green and Purple respectively. OK so I do that and evrytime I do I get a no-post beeping oevre and over. Clearing CMOS, replacing memory (TwinXLPRO 3200 1GB-kit) with anothr brand (GSkill PC4800 512MB-kit) doesn't work either? No matter what slots their in. I can put both in Green of the 1024MB-kst or both in Purple of the 512MB-kit, but in waht has been explained as Dual Chanel it won't boot? Need help.

From the posts I'm reading it seems lots of people are having all sorts of problems. Could these chips have memory Controller problems?

I tryed EXACTLY the same thing with my older FX-55. It would run perfect in SC, but nogo woth DC.

I am sorry to say that it was 1 lane in the Mem contr. that was fried :( so i think thats whats wrong.

1 in green, 1 purple for DC as mentioned.
Tried booting with insert pressed to force defaults? might then be worth setting 2t or a mem divider, and see if that helps...

Thnaks I treid everything imagiable, like pulling power cables resetting CMOS trying memory in DIMM's 1&2, 3&4, 1&3, 2&4, 1,2,3,4 etc. The Purple DIM's give me the slow beeb-beeb-beeb-beeb and the HDD light is solid. I've tried SATA 1&2 now in 3, checked memory in BIOS tried 200MHz 166MHz 133MHz 100MHz 2T/1T, etc. Tried every Voltage imaginable. etc.

How can I determine if it's the board or the chip that's screwed? I need to know what has to be sent back?

got a bios that supports winchesters?

Was in town a couple days back and apprently sticking your memory into the last slots (asus board in this case though) is how you get it to post so you can flash to a new bios.. so maybe you just need a bios update?
