I have here with me 7 different charging hoses in the 90cm-180cm range. The problem is that all of them leak wich makes finetuning systems a real pain.

The newest of them is a set of 3 180cm hoses and they are about 2 weeks old. I have been looking for a leak in the Vapo that I'm modding for few days but last night I prasurized the hoeses with propane and sinked them in a bucket...Blue hose leaks at the hose to end fitting but it leaks from the hose itself too! 2 weeks old set and now I can spot bubles coming from the midle of the hose!!!

The funny thing is that I when I preasurized them with 404A they still leaked but not as much

R290 have a molecular weight ~40.1 g/mol, R404A have 97,6 g/mol

Maybe it's why that R404A is bubbling less than R290 due to molecular weight?

Many charging hoses leak, except the black rubber ones, they arent so bad. When your tuning try to minimize the time you have your manifold attached, or buy high and low side gauges that you can permanently leave on the unit, their pretty cheap (start around 8$ i think).

The black rubber gaskets that seal when you screw need to be replaced every now and then... they wear out quite quickly, especially when I can't help from overtightening them :)

Teh gaskets have never ever leaked on me but the rubber hose to brass crimped hoints at the ends of the hoses. 3 of my haoses have black rubber O-rings and 4 of them (made by Refco) have white teflon rings. I actually prefer the rubber ones over teflon but the teflon lasts way longer without wear and tear:)

I have hoses with the rubber gaskets, and I too over tighten them. The rubber gaskets get worn out pretty quick if you leave them on something while tightened down for a long time.
