Hi, i've some trobule with an 538 Prescott Mobile 3.2Ghz working on a IC7 motherboard (i875P).
It works fine, it's an ES CPU (so with the unlocked multiplier)...
But the IC7 doesn't allow me to change the multi (and it's fixed to 14x), and i've some trobule in OC...
I've just tried the PokiPoki modded bios, the official 28-27-26 bios without any results...
The CPU works perfecly to about 270mhz FSB with the normal prescott voltage (about 1.35 volts, 1.3 REAL, this Abit downvolts a lot...), but it can run above 270mhz...
I think that it could be "mobo limited"...
I've some trouble with the 5:4 and 3:2 ram divider at 270 (and also at 230)...
Sigh...
Help please...
Has anybody else have a P4-M CPU on a desktop mobo?
Bye

Have you evere tried that CPU on another mobo?

mobile CPU's don't work right on desktop boards.
theres no support for the whats that feature called again... speedstep??
well, what ever that technology is that allows mobile CPU's to adjust on the fly.
so when put into a desktop board, the default to thier lowest available multiplier.

I've never heard of a fix for this.

plus even ES mobiles don't have really unlocked multis.. at least in desktop boards.
but afaik there was a pin-trick to select nominal mult instead of speedstep mult..

Seems intresting...
Where i can find a guide to doi that?
Thanks a lot

I have Mobile P4 on IC7 for a while. Recently I downloard a utility "RightMark CPU Clock". It can change multiplier from 14 to 26(my chip is 3.46G)by windows GUI.

I have set CPU_strup to FSB800 and FSB to FSB200(in BIOS), and set maximum multiplier to x20(In the utility, since it can fairly OC to 4.0G) then it run smothly between x14 and x20(ie, it run between 2800MHz to 4000Mhz depending on CPU Load), recently I set minimum multiplier to x16(lowest throttle) let it run not lower than 3200MHz.

Search for "CPURightmark" (by Yahoo_USA)and you will find the utility.

The utility only run on WIN-XP, WIN2000, WIN2003, not for Win98 and Win-Me.

Have a fun.

PS: the utility now is V13?, mainly for Mobile PC, Please read His forum thoughly
and try.

Fantastic...
I've some trouble with High FSB, above the 230mhz...
And the CPU couldn't go higher than 14x267...
Now is RS@18x200 with a vcore of 1.288 volts.....
Now i'll do some "tricks" on the mobo...
Or i'll serch for a P4C800 rev.2
Thanks a lot...

Uhm?
Why?
I've just hearded something similar...
I'll try it on a Abit IS7 (that will return form RMA tomorrow), but a need a GOOD mobo, because mine hassometrobule with the "ram divisor" and it can't reach higher fsb that 270.
Th CPU works perfectly @205x19@1.288 now...
Ghghghghghg...
It could works on a EpoX 4PCA3+ or with a DFI LanParty with i875P?
Thanks a lot :)

So, you are using RM utility to run @205x19?, configuration!
As to memory divider on IC7, I am using BH5 winbond chip memory. No problem with 5:4 and 3:2, I can go upto FSB300 with 3:2 at x14 multiplier.
I have test my mobile P4 (ES also) on 4PCA3+ and LanParty 875B, No booting!
IS7, I don't know.

Crimson_dAWN

I've also a BH5 chip memory...
But i can't reach 300 fsb, with 3:2...
The PC isn't rock solid @ 150x14, 4:5 ram...
But is rock solid 220x15, ram 1:1, with the same settings (vcore, vdimm, cl etc...).
I think tha is the mobo, that has some "truble" with the divisor...
Thanks a lot :)

The person who sold me the CPU used it on a P4C800 deluxe for month...
On the P4C800-E deluxe it wouldn't boot... :(
Have you tryied it on a P4C800 or on a P4C800-E ?

Were you stable at 200x20 on an IC7?
Exactly what was you CPU?
A Prescott Mobile ES 5xx?
Bye bye

I have tried both P4C800 and P4C800-E, No boot!
Maine is Mobile P4 552 3.46G
Try CG-ICS952607.EXE(Search from Yahoo-USA, you will find it) to find you CPU Upper Limitted on IC7.

Hello, I have one Mobil Prescott 552 ES these run perfectly on one Albatron PX865PE Pro with bios 1.24
http://www.albatron.com.tw/english/it/mb/specification.asp?pro_id=52

I tested and could this CPU on a IC7-G and a IC7-Max3 the CPU only without hyper Threading operate. Abit Mainboards do not have the current CPU code (0F41H ID12) it to have the CPU code (0F41H ID09). does the CPU EM64T and nx bit support? in Sisoftsandra one indicates to me!

sorry for my bad English ;)

IS7, IS7-E, and IS7-G works perfectly with "HyperThread ON".
With Right-Mark Clock Utitlities, the EIST function of 552CPU also run perfectly.

I am using P4 552 ES on Abit AI7 with Bios Version 19. It works just fine.

My only Problem is the Vcore, I can only go up to 1.5V in Bios. With DMM it´s only about 1.45V. With this settings I can reach up to 304MHz watercooled.

Multiplier adjustment works fine in Windows with RMClock too.

But did you all have the same Problem that the CPU speed is wrong in Bios Screen? If I boot with 133MHz Bios Screen shows me 254MHz ?!

Yes, don't care about BIOS screen, the recently CPU-Z reported correctly.

Hello,

@ tanghiro
IS7, IS7-E and IS7-G have 865P chipsatz and to work perfectly....problem with 875P chipsatz? I use EIST and RMCLOCK for change multiplicator.
http://www.cpuid.org/download/eist.zip

@ olDirdey
http://www.tualatin.de/phpbb/ftopic8221.html

Zur Vcore.....du kannst im bios die maximale Vcore 1,5V einstellen und in Win per EIST oder RMCLOCK noch höher. (min Vcore in EIST = im Bios eingestellte Vcore)

Here still on English... I hope one can it understand

@ olDirdey the FSB is indicated to the operating system with all Main boards too highly, I takes to the this a trick of the CPU is, around the high clock rate vorzugaukeln. Here times an example: The CPU would start this with 14X133 1862 and also correctly indicate, Windows picks this clock out (1862MHz) and stores it, if you increase now the multi on 26 (26X133 3460MHz), would always still be Windows without this trick (wrong FSB) the opinion that the CPU with 1862MHz run, although it actually runs with 3460MHz and the achievement would be despite 3460MHz misserabel!

What does the IC7 / IC7 MAx 3 need to run E0 mobiles with HT ON? My D0 works fine, my E0 Mobile needs HT off as Leni said.

Cheers,

Hello,
D0 has still the old version of HT and E0 has the new revised (improved) HT version. I assume, one need newer CPU Microcodes or newer Bios for correct HT support.

boot with 133MHz Bios Screen shows me 254MHz ?!.
on my max3:

-
CPU-Z - Bios Screen
133fsb -------- 247
200fsb -------- 371
220fsb -------- 408
230fsb -------- 426
240fsb -------- 444
300fsb -------- 556

On a Albatron PX865PE Pro (Bios 1.24) I can select multiplier 14-26 in the Bios, but CPU does not take and starts with multiplier 14

It works good in a: Abit AI7, with the tool RMclock.
But why is pifast so slow with this cpu ?
See the pictures.

And I saw that this cpu has a: 8-way L2 cache.

I tried to update the cpu micro code but, i get this error:

Create a Batch file with NotePad, for example "Latency.bat" in the
folder which contains latency.exe.

The contains of Batch file are:
Latency.exe
Pause

Run the latency.bat.
Then you will see the Mobile P4 CPU latency are twise longer than reguler Prescott.

Have a fun.

IC7-G (V28) and IC7-Max3 (V1.8) have the CpuMicrocode 0f41h ID05 and 0f41h id09.
Mobile Prescott 552 uses with IC7-g /-Max3 0f41h id09.
Albatron PX865PE pro has the CpuMicrocode 0f41h id0D and 0f41h id12.
Mobile Prescott 552 uses with PX865PE the 0f41h id12.
needs the codes 0f41h id0D and id12 on a IC7-G/-Max3

There are so far I points unfortunately still no possibility the CpuCodes in a IC7 Bios to insert. :(

Maybe you can try the program: Mcup.
MCUP lets you use and manage microcode updates for Intel P6 and NetBurst micro-architecture processors.

Hello,
there I am straight thereby me with an HEX editor to make friends over the Max3 a few new CPU codes to insert, now have I CPU cods in the Bios, anyhow show me the CBROM32.... I in handling the Hex editor quite little notion have wound RTS me which I it at all so far created:

My Flashprogramm only unfortunately says to me: This file is not a correct Bios file!
Point who which I made wrong or forgot?

MCUP I did not try yet, I have unfortunately no floppy disk drive, that already who tried?

I see that i just need microcode update to make it work. I know how to do it, there is a software calle CTMC, and it's working.

But everything I need, is to have correct microcode update bins, they have to be somewhere.
They should be present in any laptop supporting Mobile P4s Prescotts mainboard BIOS!
