I am going to get some new RAM...
I'm having doubts on which model I should choose:

- 1GB (2x512mb) G.Skill PC4400 LE
- 1GB (2x512mb) G.Skill PC4800 LA

Is it still recommended to choose the LE over LA for 1GB systems?
Which model would be my best bet to run some hot 300Mhz 1T action? :slobber:

I know the LA will make it to 300Mhz, but with 2T. Although 300Mhz 1T is very common, there's a bit of a gamble in it.

I'm planning to get the DFI NF4 next month (currently using K8N Neo2). Voltage isn't a problem because I have my DDRBooster in standby.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Roy

Yes, LE is still recommended for 1GB.

For 1GB, LE is your best bet for 300Mhz 1T. LA would hit 300Mhz 1T easier, but only in 2x256mb.

You won't need the booster to hit 300, just 2.65V on the DIMM. The DFI NF4 should hit it no problem.

Either way it's a bit of a gamble :)

But with LE it's less of a gamble!

So I guess LE it is? That's great because they're cheaper :p:
(BTW - I know I won't have to use the Booster while using the DFI, that Booster is a keeper, so it's ready to use in any case I need it [e.g Neo2 setup]).

Most of the LEs reach 300 MHz at 1T. However this does not mean that yours will as well :D. But if you want 1Gb go with the LE. If you want 512 MB go with the LA.

Does getting TCCD#440 chips will improve my chances?

mine one is 440, but they are 256 X 2 (G.Skill PC4800-LA) :p:

they can hit over 350 on DFI-NF4

Is the 437 less quality?

Not really. I think the best pair of LEs that OPB has are 0437s.
