Has anyone messed with the new 55W version of the Opteron 246?

Any theories as to which will OC better?

Well, the lower the wattage, the better for OC, right? That's the deal with the mobiles etc?

In theory, BUT--

Since the old-school 246s have been in production longer....?

I'm mostly wondering if anyone has played with them yet.

Are you going to overclock your server? :D

Yep. And it will be more of a gaming/entertainment rig. I'm looking at either the Tyan K8WE or the IWill boards.

If your not going to run SMP then I'd get a 146 and save a few deniro.

(offtopic) if you do get it, can u try D2OL on it for a little (offtopic)
I think the ones that need less voltage would overclock better and produce less heat, but thats all in theory like you said. I'm not sure, but I dont know how many of the new dual 64bit opteron motherboards have overclocking features. I know the older ones do, but the new ones I'm not sure of.
