got my new Shuttle S77G5 + 3.2ghz E0
running @ 4009mhz !!! :slobber:
i cannot test 3dmark or anything cuz i haven't got my 3200 Rev2 + 6800GT
running a fx5200 + 512 TCCC atm
this is with low speed fan (till i understand this damn "smart fan")
edit : got my new gig of OCZ Plat Rev2 @ 250fsb 2.5-3-3-5...waiting for the vcard

wow nice. On stock cooling?

i bet it's faster at 3.2.

try sp @32m at both you'll see.

Why would you say that?

Thermal throttling issues, maybe? I've seen similar cases to this where some guy thought his CPU was at 4.5GHz or something but it just throttled itself back to keep alive...

how do i know if my cpu is "throttling" ?
is there a program to see the "throttle"
because im dual priming it @ 4009mhz @ 1.5v (cpu-z show 1.4-1.41) and the temp stay @ 50-55c :stick:

but you should be able to turn off thermal throttling

Crankster

try PI, if it scores worse when overclocked it's throttling.

when mine was throttling
i loaded prime
and ran cpuz

and the freqancey fell.

Half life

3,2---------17x188-----640x480 98.84 fps
3,3---------17x194-----640x480 97.58 fps
3,4ghz------17x200-----640x480 96.48 fps
3,5---------17x206-----640x480 94.88 fps
3,6---------17x212-----640x480 94.01 fps
3,7---------17x218-----640x480 92.91 fps
3,8---------17x224-----640x480 90.84 fps
3,9---------17x230-----640x480 89.89 fps

Maybe he underclocks to 3.0 he'll hit 100FPS LMAO

Yes it's called throttlewatch. You need to launch it, press f5 to start the log file, run your benches, when finished benching press f5 again to stop log file. Presshot will only idle after awile... like gaming ...like 32M superpi etc.

But throttlewatch is kinda BS in that it won't tell you which Mhz performs best.... only quantitative benchmarks can show you that.

Well, his temp seems low so it shouldn't throttle.

That's assuming the temp sensors are exact which is a lot to assume.

I'm totally amazed by these temps. Shuttle must have the best aftermarket HSF ever. My bud runs xp120 w/ panaflo and sports mid 60's at less Mhz ~3.9ish

HiJon89
I know. However, even if it's 20C higher it should still be sort of OK :)

this is weird
@ 1.5v im idling @ 50-52c
lower than 3.8ghz stock volt :stick:

Supertim0r
02-03-2005, 12:27 PM
is it throttling ?

NoX
02-03-2005, 01:32 PM
No, but the CPU is not under load. Run SuperPi or Prime for sometime and then check again.

I was told you couldn't overclock on Shuttle SSF's...but nice. And yes, my intel 2.8E performed better at 3.3ghz than 3.5ghz on my SP-94, so check that.

42sec @ stock 3200mhz
34sec @ 4009mhz
this is "journal" from throttlewatch during a 3dmark2001 bench
the problem is : E0 = thermal something "2.0"...not 1

Supertim0r

super pi 32m @ 28m54s ... is it good ?
i recorded with throttlewatch and got NO THROTTLING ... is it real ?

That's real time at that speed. Amazing setup and shuttle cooling.:)

OMFG I cannot believe it !!
no throttling !!! ???
it reach 87-89c @ dual prime  but the air is barely warm and the heatsink is slightly warm :stick:

About the ability to OC with a Shuttle.
I can confirm that thoose Shuttles OC just fine...only thing is, they mostly lacks the ability to set high voltages of any kind in bios.

I´m running a Shuttle XPC SN95G5...with nforce3 939, paired with a Winny 3000+ and 2x512mb TCCD.
And this is what I got so far with the I.C.E cooling....don´t mind the bad SuperPI...just testing cpu stability so I´m running with 166mhz mem.divider and timings @ auto:

the question is... AM I REALLY @ 87-89C !!!
i had no throttle according to throttlewatch
maybe its no reporting the real temp :stick:

LOL wow 90c :sofa: !
its impossible without throttling or the cpu still alive
take a look
maybe my sensor is bad ?

I really dont think ppl need to put exclamation in threat titles when they've only reach 4Ghz...I mean, Fugger's 6Ghz didnt have any exclamations marks for god's sake.

He he He, kidding, nice going there, can it do benchies at 4ghz. ??

its 110% stable @ prime, 3dmark... (no throttle...even @ 90c..if its the real temp)

Try friggin S&M will ya? It will make prime seem like it's idle..

so can you make it loop forever like prime? or... what settings should you use?

Finally got my Asus 6800GT 256m
solved my "high" temp problem (heatsink wasn't touching the mofset properly)
