I just read that Intel's 600 series of CPU's will be released latest in March (hope it's true). I just wondered if anyone has and idea of what the lowest multiplier will be? The Pentium "Mobile" 548 (3,33GHz) with enhanced speedstep is adjustable between 11-25x wich is a 11x133/25x133 - 1500/3330MHz range... the 2GHz Dothan with enhanced speedstep is adjustable between 6x100/20x100 - 600/2000MHz.
The 600 series will be available at 3-3,6GHz - if we assume Intel would like the CPU to go how low in idle mode? 1600MHz? - that would be a 8-15x (with 200MHz FSB) on a 3GHz. Sounds to good for me - seems all of us finally can use the 350MHz FSB the 925XE and DDR2 are capable of running without having to freeze our CPU....
Any qualifyed bids? cos this seems to become a very good platform then - a Pentium CPU running above 300MHz FSB with DDR2-600 will kick ass...
