Here are some pics of my first phanse-change system.

Compressor: L'Unité Hermetique (Tecumhse) CAE2420Z 3/8cv r404a Low Temp
Cap tube 0,09, I think, with 2,75meters
14L Condenser
30gr drier
Evaporator done with 3/8tube

I can reach -39ºC in evaporator when there's no liquid, in the first run.
With metanol I can reach now -41ºC, measured in the center of the liquid.

Now it's time to regard if there are some leaks and the arrival of my board for the SLI system.
This will chill (I hope) two 6800GT's :)

I would like to know what you think about this, and if there's something wrong with the system.

Thats nice and clean. I wanna make one the size of a promy or possibly slightly bigger but i just need to know where to get a small but efficient heat-x and a good compressor

Great job, your chiller looks very professional and well construced. Just be careful of your plastic resevoir it may crack easily at those temperatures.

Thank you all!

I'm thinking about a metal paint can for the reservoir... any ideas about what other thing can I use for that?

Try igloo insulated drink containers or such....seems beer containers are popular cause even if your system dies, you still have something to keep the beer cool! :toast:

Indeed, beer would get quite cool when submerged in -41c methanol. A tube in shell or coasxial evap would be best, but you would still need a resevoir. I think that the paint can idea is a good one, especially since it could be made liquid tight.

Now, after calibrating gas better, I can reach -50ºC.
The cap tube that's outside the reservoir gets frost... it is bad that this happens?

put a heat-load on it, If the temps rise and rise, the captube is too long :)
if it doesn't, it's ok ;)
