What should a Mobile 3400+ run idle at stock?

Right now at 267x9.0 I am idling 46-47C is that about right?

First of all, your sig says you have a DTR which is not the same as a 1.4v mobile. Secondly it'd be nice to know what type of cooling your using. Judging by the fan also found in your sig, I'd guess your using an XP120. If that's the case, I'd say your temps are a little too high...maybe around 5-7 degrees. How's your ambient temp?

Whoops mad bad...I meant DTR... and I am using the XP-120 yes. System temps is about 33-35C. The thing is I am not sure if the heatsink is sitting all the way down on the CPU and I have sanded the bracket down so much so I believe it is. And I think I really need to lap down the heatsink alittle. I never did that when I got it. I am not really good at lapping a heatsink though. I don't have the patience for it at all.

Seems too high, check maybe if heatsink is OK.

you have a dfi 250gb, and although good for ocing its absolutely obismal for reading the right temps, it says mine is 60c load on 1.6vCore which is way too high for my cooling (hyper6)

After beta bios update my temps went down by ~10C

Yeah I am using the most recent Beat BIOS for the DFI board. I don't know. I started running into problems with it clocked at 2.5 so I am sitting at 2.25 right now. I went down one multiplier to 9.0. I am happy with it for everyday normal use for right now until I find the time to mess with it alittle more.

whats a good device for measuring cpu temps manually? I've been looking for one for quite some time.

Yeah I would like to get my hands on one as well. Because I would like to see what the temps really are on my GPU and RAM as well. Is liquid cooling any good at all? I was thinking about using liquid-cooling on my CPU and GPU. Because I really am sick of heat. Heat sucks ass when you are sitting in a room full of it in the middle of summer in Florida. :(

For Athlon 64's I have found no good way to measure temps other than the onboard probe. The 250gb makes up temperatures, I'm using the latest bios, it says I go up in the 70's sometimes, but when I stop prime, I'm immediatly back in the 40's. It just guesses what my temps are, I really don't understand how they make this thing 'work.' Not the best way, but how I do it is, overclock, run prime if it's unstable increase the voltage, if no improvement and you think ur getting too hot, then it's cause you are. Really no way to tell with a 250gb. I'm very dissapointed they let it ship this way, and it still has not been fixed for many users.

what cooling are you using kryptobs2000? if its AMD stock cooler then those temps are about right specially if your pumping 1.73v into that chip

tower 112 cu with a 92mm tornado, stock cooling, stock everything, says I get into the 60's load.

hmm whats the difference between A64, A64 DTR and A64m in terms of specs ?

I think:
A64 = what we know it as
A64 DTR = Athlon 64, without ihs and all clawhammers probably higher speed binned
A64 True Mobile = Higher speed binned DTR only needs 1.4v
