Ok well it would seem that the x700pro has the same memory as the 6600GT, however the 6600GT gets higher memory clock speeds. Almost 20% increase in many cases! Some article somewhere had mentioned that the x700 has more agressive memory timings.

What I am looking for is advice as to what memory timings to change in atitool. I know this sounds like a noob question, but there is no documentation on this whatsoever and I am by no means a pro when it comes to memory timings. I am hoping to relax the timings slightly to hopefully get a better overall bandwidth.

Am I barking up the wrong tree? I can reach an easy 500mhz GPU / 1000mhz mem on stock cooling for the GPU, which is terrible cooling, and none whatsoever on the memory. I for one think its a good card and would have purchased the 6600GT if it had been available, however I bet I can turn it into a 6600GT killer.

Suggestions?

I am running an A8N-SLI board.

don't bother with the mem tuning there. each card's value are tuned during manufacutring so that all the mem works well together. It's not likely that you will get more performance from changing them. If anything at all it might get worse

btw good oc on the x700 there. when I had it I got it running at 510/1000 watercooled

Correct me if im wrong, but i think that some comps run ram at loose timings, high clocks, (NVIDIA), and tight timings, lower colocks (ATI) BTW, you can change timings with ATI Tool

But DONT! It could screw it up!

dont mess with the timings, it can cause problems such as instability

It could screw it up...
OR
It could turn into the 6600GT Killer you were talking about, and open the doors for others to try and kill the 6600gt's with their x700's as well

But the choice is yours, gl either way!

Thanks for the support!

Does anyone have any links they have bookmarked that go over such timings?
