So I was running the old bios quite some time ago, then someone suggested I look into the beta 1003.008 bios (I think that is what it was called). I was trucking along with my 3000+ @ 270x9 ddr333@2.5-4-4-8 and 2T. This was pushing it, and in a very warm room I could prime95 for 6 hours, which I am happy with. The 2T vs. 1T thing was what some people were hoping would be fixed. I am just a noob so I have no real knowledge of this stuff, I thought my results were good at 2T.
Looked through the ASUS website and they have 1003 listed as new since the 21st I think. I found this odd since the asus flash utility mentioned no appropriate bios existed. Maybe im just a clown?
Anyhow, installed, and its now running stable at the same settings, however I am running now at 270x9 2.5-3-3-7 DDR333 and 1T which was not possible prior to the flash. =D
Largest difference I notice, which surprised me, was a huge increase in the Everest write speeds. I didnt notice much improvement anywhere else though, but with my settings im still king of the hill in all 3 tests. I absolutely love this setup!
Just thought I would mention the bios since I didnt notice anyone else posting it. How are your results?

I'll have to try it out. I have my Corsair 3200XL that doesn't appreciate much over 250mhz right now. But I'll swap my Gskill in there and find out what can happen at 1T. The Gskill is good for 290+ at 2.5 3-3-7 1T.

Second that. It's easier just to change the board. Fed up with flashing BIOS on A8N. I am a happy camper now with DFI.

Yah I'm using the 1004.001 BIOS with no luck. Going to swap these G.Skill out for another pair just to make sure, but I doubt it is the memory.

If you are running with DDR333 then you RAM is using a 5/6 ratio so it is only running at : 270(5/6) = 225

Make sure to specify all ram timings manually in the bios if you are having problems...
I thought mine was stable with the 1004.001 but after 12-12.5 hrs I get prime errors. I then set the following in bios and I'm still priming away!
(I'm using Mushkin 2x512 lvl2 3500 @ 2.7v @ 5x200 HTT) - Below is how my timings look in bios...
(edit: still tweaking my settings down...)
1T
2

5

7
12

hope this helps...
the auto setting may be missing the right setting with your particular ram...
spend some time playing with the timings...
