Hi, picked up a pcp&c 510w deluxe PSU about a week ago (second hand) and from the first time I powered it up it started making a quite loud sound in a 2 second loop continually, kinda like a god damn warning sound. Im assuming its the fan, I first thought it was the fan control circuitry picking up a signal from the sink or where ever and adjusting the fan to dissipate the extra heat, thought the control signal was right on the verge of where it kicks the fan onto the next level. But the other day the PSU started making the sound again, but once I put a heavier load on it it sounded normal again which is contrary to that theory as it was quieter on heavier load

It happened again today which is the 3rd time it has occurred

When it starts making weird sounds it does it damn loud, easily perceivable over the 4 120mms on the rad and 4 papst in my atc-100, it’s 3 or more times as loud as when it runs normally which makes me think it’s screwed in some way

Who else uses the 510w deluxe? Has anyone came across something similar with their 510w deluxe

i would give them a Call/Email on this issue they have good support.

it maight be an Inductor, they tend to whine a high pitch tone from time to time if they are loose. But by loading the psu might take it away. I've had this issue on a few mobos in the past.
