Win2k accounts for much of the gains. Newer drivers, nf4 and pci-e account for 5fps higher natures and dragothic. Hes 100MHz lower cpu clocks but 1k above his xp score :slobber: Hes still on the look for a better clocking fx55, the hunger never ends :D only 647 marks for 44k but I am making no predictions. 44k will happen when it happens. Its up to him to find the hardware, especially cpu and use his amazing skills to score higher. I am still :slobber: over his score. 40k happened only yesterday and were at 43.3k now!

To tell you truth I haven't even tested the VX for max clocks on the DFI. I wanted to bench 3d so bad I forgot to try it out. On MSI Neo4 it went to 268 3d proofed.
I'll have to get back to you on that one:D

Not to get too off topic but yes and yes. The freezer has 11 gallons of methanol and glycol mixture and gets down to -33C, not bad for a house freezer that can still chill beer in a hurry. Will use it this spring when the cold air runs out. It runs about -18C on the waterblock, though I don't think the guys on the chilled liquids forum would be too impressed, they tend to use skill ripping air con units apart, I tend to use duct tape and gutter sealant bodging things together.

You can tell I am on my second bottle of wine, very talkative tonight :D

Not anymore, these days we have locked pci clocks so i just plug into the onboard sata.
I use to run 2x Raptors in raid, with the card it was easy to go from mobo to mobo also.
Now I just use 1x raptor as IDE.

Yeah, for sure '01 is DONE for awhile. I was looking at the numbers and I don't believe ANYONE can catch OPP with a Neo2/FX55/x800XTPE.... the added boost of the NF4 is obvious. Even Overklokk at 3600mHz might not be enough to beat OPP's score.
SO.... since noone else HAS an NF4 board yet.... this score will stand for quite awhile. Probably a long WHILE.
SO, OPP needs to grab a couple 6800U and devise some cooling and go beat Shamino..... '03 and '05. Fortunately he only needs the GPU's.... so give MSI another call, OPP ;)

The fastest cpu this year may be the fx57 san diago but so many variables. How well will a 90nm FX based cpu clock? what will be the next gen gpu from nvidia and ati and how well will it do in 2001, especially nature? I can however say that we are 6.3k marks shy of 50k and that nature is worth 20 marks per fps. CPU clocks may gain about 10 marks per MHz with next gen gpus or about 8 marks with x800xt. It wasnt long that we say 40k, I await the day 50k falls, whenever it be.....sooner or later.... :D

By about -30% is my guess. Only one core will be active during 3dmark2001 and the latest guess is that it will be only at 2.4-2.6GHz. Also, might only be 512KB cache per processor for AMD so that sucks as well.

I agree with GF4, best processor wil lbe FX-57 if it is still going to be single core and whoever gets the best one of those will be in pole position for a long time ......

IMO though and of course guessing the spec of dual core ;)

jjcom - none of use know how each manufacturer will do dualcore. I wouldnt say "no" until I knew, although its probably a safe bet that they wont do as I suggested (think of it like multiple pipelines that can be assigned as either vertex or pixel as needed).

One of my choke coils fell off when benching a ways back. It was from all the amps running through the card. The coils got too hot and melted the solder. I was useing a lot of voltage is the reason it happened. Now I use heatsinks and a fan on them so it won't happen again.
If you not use a lot of high volts I'm sure you don't need it.

I have been running 1.75volts through my card. As I mentioned it seems to not like 3d01 at 660mhz but 650 its fine. Do you have any tips to get it more stable at that speed. btw, the core never gets above 40C even under load.

Here is what I got for default cpu and gpu clocks on fx55, dfi nf4, & x850xtpe and 5-2-2-2-1 on 512m hyperx3200 bh5.
I think the 5.2cat / 5.2cp that im using is holding the score back a little for 01'. 32k should be pretty easy with stock clocks on cpu and gpu, better driver combination, and some more tweaking:

30100 does seem on the low side for sure. Multipc tweak gives around 400pts or so, so even with that youd still be around 30500 prolly.

That seems a little low to me. With bugged cl(444.x), that 31.2k run I posted would be around 150pts higher too :/

Looks like there may be a problem there.

really strange , here is the same run with my winnie , desynch 133++.
The motherboard can't give me all the FX55 Power apparently , only 1100 pts between FX and winnie , it's totally abnormal.
I waited for the good LC for both.

ok I compared both and your fx55's extra cache makes a big difference in car, drag and lobby lows. It does little to the highs and nothing in nature. I also noticed your winchester was using 289 fsb, try running the fx55 at 289x9 and see what happens. I dont know how much the extra cache should help, but your winchester had way higher fsb and ram bandwith

welcome back macci! I have heard about the new fx55s going to 90nm, wont claim as fact but if you can wait a couple weeks, more info about them will make its way. Isnt amd already getting out 90nm opertons at 2.6GHz? seeing that 130nm supply of fx55s is exhausted, it makes sense to renew it with cheaper to make 90nm since they can make more per wafer and get better yields too, also itll make overclockers happy and upgrade their 130nm fx55 to 90nm and it could be your ticket to high clocks :D

I'm breaking my tooth on this K8NXP-SLI.
I think i have the same problem than with K8nsnxp-939 and F4 bios , this bios was working good with winnies but not with FX55, the only way to have a decent score with FX55 was to use the F3 bios.
But there is no similar bios for my actual M/b. :(
Do you found the difference beetween F3 and F4 bios ?
I were happy if anybody find the solution..
And .... have a lot of fun in VEGAS Dude :toast:

yeah, the later week Winchesters are having an easier time doing higher clocks. So it does make sense for AMD to make that move.
