I've resently bought this cooler and it cools fairly well the max temp of my 3.0ghz northwood @1.65volts@3.52ghz is about 49 C (few hours of prime95 stress test large ftp) with an ambient of 20C. The only problem is that my fan is spinning at 1600rpm and in the manual and on the website it says that it can spin at 2000 rpm. I got this speed at mbm5 and in my bios. I am using fan mate 2 that came with it and i have it turned up to full speed. Is there something wrong with it?

I wouldn't worry about it...the board could just be reading it wrong...is there way you could just avoid the fanmate and see if that helps?

Yes, loose the mate and get more speed (even at max there will be some minor contact resistance losses). :toast:

Yeah, the fanmate is the problem.
