I just ran across this. It looks like Intel is going to release the dual core 8xx series ahead of the 6xx series. Interesting that they are trying to get so many different kinds of procs to the market in a short time span

read somewhere end of Feb is slated release for the 6xx series

That roadmap is just speculation, it's nothing official. It's put together by a guy who posts over on ocforums.
He's wrong about the release date for the 6xx CPUs. They're coming out in late Feb. The 8xx Smithfields are in fact being released in Q2.
