i would choose the SPaW as well. this takes me back to the ole JIUHB days :) im not even sure if these codes means as much anymore?? anyone?

I wish i had a clue. The SPAW generally overclock well, as any week 40+ does :stick: If you're going for 2700 either of them should do so with about 1,6Vcore, though for 3ghz on air you would need luck, and lots of it :)

If i knew more about the steppings i would be more helpful, but considering i only require a 50% overclock with my $150 3000+ wonder, it doesnt bug me too much.

people keep going on abut the A part being better cos apparently the a is monday, b is tuesday, due to best silicone being available beginning of week, which is complete crap. most of these numbers are simply so amd can keep track of batches and so on. Thats about it, late weeks are invariable better, you can get a great batch any week. I've been getting between 2.6 and 2.8Ghz on every single ath 64(cept a crappy 2800+ i got for a friends ri) i've gotten since around feb. My 3600+ does 2.65Ghz from week 42 last year.

Theres been no real sudden increase in overclocks with winchesters, better motherboards and mem are causing fsb's to start hitting 300mhz. any chip with the right coolnig right now should do 2.65Ghz, more with right voltage/board and more with better cooling. There have been very few chips i've seen that have done less and the few that have you can't be certain its not user not really knowing what to do.

get either, try both and sell one, get neither wait for the new version, don't get to involved in the sillier parts of the code cos then whatever you do get from the one you choose you'll always think you might have gotten higher with the other one.
