2.8V :(

2.8V :(
With a real easy (clip on if wanted to do that way) mod and plenty of overhead since VDimm is +5V driven. Have used up to 3.7V so far with only .01V fluctuation loaded/unloaded. :)
edit: On 3+ not 3J, same VDimm circuit though

I bought 9NDA3+ on saturday and it's rev 2.1. Flashed the newest bios rightaway. Memory (2x512MB OCZ 3700 EB) was memtest stable 241 cas3-3-2-8-1T with 2.8 Volts (max in bios), but no more. I think Vdimm-mod is required to go higher. These memsticks were totally memstable 239 cas3-2-2-8-1T with 3.0 volts on DFI Lanparty. But the most disturbing thing in this board is temp readings. With watercooling, 11x236 clocks and 1.65 vcore idle-temp is 52 and running SuperPi32M rises to 70 degrees according USDM. Anyone experienced same thing with temp?

I am using 9nda3j v2.1.It seems like this mobo doesn't use corediode, instead it use something like 8rda's thermoresistor. For example, when you use watercool, the temp of cpu maybe above 50,but if you place a fan near cpu,the temp will drop to 2x!
So don't trust it.

Thanks for the info fatbird2046! I reinstalled the waterblock and applied a thin layer of AS5 (previously used only silicon paste). I let it settle and then check again.

I have been using it since I got my board. Dual channel works now better in slots 1&2 than with previous bioses. In fact, stable memspeed in dual channel is now equally good in slots 1&2 and 3&4.

What is the difference beween the old rev and the ver 2.1............... and how is this board with 2 x 512mb of TCCD, WB UTT or BH-5 with 1T i read somwhere that it doesn't like 1gb of ramm to much.......and how stable or unstable are voltages on it
mikead_99
01-23-2005, 07:22 AM
@ Millyons:
2x512 TCCD does 270 MHz for me, 2x512 VX does 265 MHz, 2x256 BH-5...even higher. This board does fine with 1 GB 1T, I'm using slots 3-4 though, as 1-2 acted a bit differently. Regarding voltages, they seem pretty stable to me. I have seen some other post where someone said that this board limited is max stable clocks compared to the Neo2, but I am seeing the opposite with my cpu.
edit to add: and the Rev 2.1 has a new VCore circuit
edited again for spelling

Do you guys have issues with asynchro mode too? For example:
If I set fsb at 300mhz (no matter what is the multiplier) i cannot boot with memory set at 166 asynchro mode.
Could you please try to boot with the settings above and check if you can boot with them? Thx
Edit -> I have brand new bios from epox website.
try mem slots 3 and 4 only. I don't have problem..this is 166.

sauria, I just took out my Gigabyte board and installed the 9NDA3J, it OCs a lot better than the Giga as far as HTT is concerned and I am getting much better mem bandwidth. The nice thing is, I pumped the voltage up +.025 and thought that would give me around 1.525 volts. I have been priming it for a few hours. Then I rebooted and to my surprise the voltage is at 1.35 for the core. I have been running my 3200+ at 2.45GHz for hours with only 1.35 volts.....LOL.

I guess this new 2.1 has a better voltage circuit?
Just got this board yesterday - very easy setup. Replacing my 2100+ T-bred "B" that would do 2.3 ghz @ 1.65 vcore (awesome chip!).
There is a new bios for the 9nda3j available, dated 2/15/05. I used the Magic Bios utility that came with the board and flashed it through windows.
so far I've got my 3200+ running at 2250, stock volts, stock cooler, using my trusty old 1gb of TCCC ram in channels 1&2.
Pretty amazing this old ram can do 225 @ 3-3-3-8 1t! 5xHTT.
Overall, it's hard to beat the cost. Wish I had some nice TCCD ram, but I'm too much of a budget overclocker.

I just built mine too and put the DIMMS 1G GSkill LA kit in slots 3&4
running pretty stable so far w/ a 5/6 divider @ 2500. 3-3-3 1t stuff, but great for this old ram!
hopefully some more left in it.

ANy consensus on the best BIOS for the "J" board -- I take it they use the same BIOS?
for 9nda3j board, I used the Magic Bios utility which downloaded & flashed bios 2/15/05.
I'm running 2x512 sticks in channels 1&2, using 1t timings, and it's solid.
Still has the fast writes enabled bug, so make sure fast writes is DISabled.

I’ve had mine for about a week. It ran great and was very stable. Yesterday I flashed the BIOS to 1/11/05, that’s when things went downhill. CPU temps skyrocketed and the board is no longer stable, even at stock settings. I’ve flashed between three different BIOS’s and the problem still persists. I’ve tried two different CPU’s with water cooling and a H/F. I’ll try the new 2/15/05 BIOS before switching back to my MSI board.

Put them on the mosfets near the CPU and mosfets near RAM. A nice touch for a "bargain board"

well I started by booting up the nforce 2 board, booted to DOS, and removed the original bioschip put in my bad chip from the Epoxboard "while its still powered on and in dos", had the newest awdflash and the da3j5111.bin from epox ready on floppy, used these parameters to flash "awdflash8.exe bios.bin /f". the it all worked out for me again.

Same board?
Yes, I'll report back when it's installed. The first board ran great and was very stable. It overclocked very well too. Before the problem occurred, I did hear some faint popping and ticking. I thought it was a fan or something. It was running my fx53 @ 2500 (10x250) at the time with 1.7 vcore. The power mosfets and caps were smoking hot. Before that they ran pretty cool, witch supprised me. Their was no visible burn marks or bulging caps that I could see. That's why I RMA it.
that doesn't sound fun at all!
I found I can run 2600mhz w/ this cpu in my 9nda3j, but needs a lot more voltage (1.5v to 1.525 v) than 2500 requires (1.375v to 1.4v). I booted into windows @ 2700 w/ same volts for 2600, it wouldn't bench, rebooted and found my Windows corrupted! :D
After reformat I'm back at 2500.

Should be EASIER :)
I seem to have the same problem, when 300 fsb I can only use 100 divider, thou I know my ram can do 260...

Anyone who is running a Winny @ 2600 mhz or greater - seems like it needs at least 1.55 to 1.6 vcore to be stable, 2700 might be even more - is this pretty typical for volts or no?
Mine 3500+ winny runs superpi32M stable 2650MHz with 1.475Volts and 2700MHz with 1.55Volts.
that's a NICE 3500+ chip!
