I've got this thing on my dfi cooling a a64 3000+ and in bios temperatures are reading as 45C and i can only manage to get it stable at around 2300 mhz, so my question is this, on the mounting screws. How far should i be screwing them in? Should i tighten them untill they won't anymore or what?

I've got that heatsink, on a socket A...its fairly nice, anyway...I believe you tighten the screws until they start to show some resistance. Just alittle, then you give 'em like a 1/2turn and your good to go, this is how I think it goes

What do you guys think of a 80 to 120mm adaptor and a tt thunderblade or san ace 120mm fan to give me the same airflow as this 80mm on here now except quieter?

you know that might be nice...I've never thought about that...I've thought of a new fan...but not a 120mm one...mmm..that fan can be alittle load...so I'd say go for it

only bad part about it is the 80 to 120 mm adaptor i found on frozen cpu is 25 bucks plus the ten for the fan, cost me the same as a new heatsink...:( Prolly still gonna do it just so i don't have to remount anything though.
