Hello all.
First some system specs:
Antec Neopower 480
MSI NEO2 Platinum
FX-55
ATI X800 XTPE
Audigy2 ZS platinum
and of course a HD or two and dvd burner.
Right now I'm watercooling my cpu with a DD TDK block and my gpu with a DD Maze4. I have my pump (500Gph), res, and heatcore outside. Iv come to learn that if its 40F outside my water temp will be about 45F.
Now even when I run my cpu at stock I'm seeing idel temps of 34C and load temps of 43C. When I overclock to 2.8Ghz with 1.6V my temps go up to 38C/50C. It seems I have a hot running chip no matter what I try.
Lately we have been having some really nice weather for St.Louis, right now it's 68F outside! Soon it will be summer and of course I'll have to bring my setup inside.
So I'v been thinking of way to chill my water. I know using a minifrig won't work and as much as I want one, I don't have no $900 for a Vapochill. So what does this leave me with?
I'd like to point out that I'm not looking for subzero temps because I really don't want to mess with all the insulating everything part. But it be nice if I could keep my water temp around 25-40F even under load. I have thought about an A/C unit but then I have to seal everything up and Iv read that for this purpose it will have to much refrigerant which can damage the compressor? I don't have the know how or the time to be draining some out to get it right.....
Anyone have any ideas what I can use or if do use a A/C unit how to keep it from getting so cold intill I do have the time to insulate everything?
