My cdrom was working fine a few days ago, then I reformatted, did a bunch of tweaks from the sticky here and now its messed up. It will read a cd in the drive but will not run anything from it. For instance it will read all the data on my starcraft cd but when I click the install icon the system hangs until I open the cd drive and cancel the process. What's weird though is that I can play dvds in the drive but not cds.
I don't believe this is a drive problem and think it has something to do with editing the registry to stop autoplay.
