Im in the market for some ram sinks for my 2 6800 Gt's which cores are both watercooled.
Atm i can only find UK shops with Vantec Copper VGA blocks, anyone have any experience with them or know if they are any good.
If anyone could point me in the directon of a UK shop that sells he OCZ ones that would be awsome.
Also to attach them i plan on using Artic Silver Thermal Adhesive mixed with articsilver 5, im thinking if i only use a small quantity of adhesive will i be able to remove them and clean them?

you could attach them with normal as5 in the middle of the chip and a little bit super-clue in each corner. should working as good as Artic Silver Thermal Adhesive and would be much cheaper!
for the ram-coolers you could take an old cpu-cooler, which is parted in smaller pieces. is cheaper and i dont think a commerzial produkt is much better!

I had thought about cutting up an old heatsink, only ones i really have that would be at all suitable are the old stock athlon XP heatsinks, the aluminium ones, its certainly an idea.
edit
Iv had a look, and to me the base of the heatsink looks far to thick around 8-9mm, so it think il need to buy the VGA blocks or pick up a different heatsink

i dont think, that cooper-heatsinks would be "so" much better. take the old aXP heatsinks!

I agree with 2fink there.
I just went to the local Radio Shack/Tandy/Jaycar & bought some cheapo aluminium ramsinks (they're for old tsop types) & stuck them on my old 9800pro with the AS Thermal Adhesive with AS5...
The Vantec ramsinks are pretty good, I've actually got them on my X800Pro>XT with WC setup.
They come with thermal tape so i didn't bother using the AS epoxy as I wanna still be able to stick the stock cooler on my Vc when I go PCI-E...
I have a spare X800pro stock cooler that i'm going to cut up soon for ramsinks or mosfet sinks (the cooler from my poor dead X800Pro that I tried to join the laser cut)...
Enough babbling, If there's a local RadioShack (or equivalent) around, just get the cheap ones... It's not like you're cooling a CPU or GPU...
Cheers,
Minnyboy
PS, apologies for the babbling, my fingers are just "in the mood 2nite" :D

i've got a lian li v1000 which mounts the atx board upside down. the convenient thing about this is that the bga ram sits on th upper side of the card. atm, i've got my bga ramsinks attached to the ram by gravity + thermal paste. seems to be working well so far, just need to be careful if i move the case or put it on its side to install stuff.

Top of page Vantec Iceberq Copper BGA Memory Ramsinks (HS-001-VA)
I use these on my chipsets and mosfets, well ones that i know to cool need more info on what others)on asus mobo to help cool at 450fsb and ideally soon 500fsb.
They are for gpus primary and are very good and have high quality tape on them which will cool dramatically better than nothing, but not as good as some adhesive like artic silver 5 or alumina, if you going to use silver, follow homepage guide and cover all legs of ram chips with silicon, and let it set as sliver can conduct (their not saying it will but it be easy to get some on a leg and short out gpu).
