View Full Version : Lian Li PC70
Im on the look for a new case, mainly for better temps, and i want it to look class as well, money doesn't matter to much, but don't want to go overboard.
The last few days ive been looking at the Coolermaster Stacker, it looks pretty sweet, and has lots of of vents, so should get great temps. I don't like the idea of having the buy another one of the cages for another 120mm fan and paying extra for the xflow fan. I also don't have any 120mm fans, so id have to buy them extra.
The wavemaster looks gorgeous, but i don't think i would great that good airflow with it.
Ive just noticed the Lian Li PC-70, and i can get it for £128. It's very big, and has 6 80mm fan slots, of which i will all use with no extra cost and i have a fan controller now.
Id probably mod a side fan as well, for looks, which i doubt i could do with the stacker.
My question is, which one should i go for?

I suppose if i got a case this ig, id need to buy new long IDE cables? :)
Why do you say the Lian LI mate?

Not very impressed with the fan grills on the case, will restrict airflow loads???
Suppose i can cut them out.

yea will restrict like 10% of the airflow. no need for long IDE. standard will do just fine.
umm i said Lian Li cuz i own one myself :p
PC-60... the standard IDE cables are too long even so you'll be alright. i woudave gotten the PC-70 but: a) too expensive, b) not enought space in my room, and c) the removable mobo tray of the PC-60 kicks so much ass when i wanna bench with dice. just slide the mobo out of the case. :)
Hmmmmmmm.
This case looks pretty gorgeous:

My current case seems really small at 200mm wide, 470mm deep and 430mm high, so somet like the wavewaster and that Silverstone are a fair bit bigger.
Bit worried about the size of the PC-70 and Stacker.

I'm using the PC71 (black version) for over 1 1/2 years now and I still love it.
Has some enormous space, which makes it easy to install new hardware, swap your board etc...
But the Stacker looks sweet too.
Hard choice between those 2, no doubt about it.
This is now what iam looking at getting, looks nice, cools well to:

Same kinda design as the wavemaster. It's fairly big as well.
I don't want the LCD display, i don't think this one has it.

excaliberpc has a wicked deal going on the PC71 or at least they did a few days ago.
got a lianli pc 71 - awesome tower.
if you can get it for the price you mentioned - BUY IT!
had to pay 370€ (incl. window kit) 3 years ago...
but i was NEVER sad about the money - my best buy ever :)

i'd take the lian li, its more quality and u'll be fine with temps and weight. Moreover, it has some potential for modding etc, and its biig ;) another reason for u to buy it might be that it fits quite well with vapo LS ..

I had the Coolermaster Wavemaster and I think the airflow with it was great. Although I retired it to get the Coolermaster STACKER!!! :slobber:
This case has AWESOME airflow, especially with the optional cross-flow fan.
