Is there someone who can help me out here...

Tried an Nvidia 6600GT and a Club3D 6600GT together in SLi and Win found the ability to run them, but after restart it says "one or more gfx cards have been removed or disabled" - so no SLi and after that it blackscreens.

Using Asus A8N motherboard.

Now is it a vendor problem so you have to have 2xAsus for instance?
If so to any have a link for 6600GT BIOS's?

Thanks :toast:

Asus A8N web site says 2 cards must be of same brand ... maybe bios flash one to the other brand would work ??

maybe drag the bios out of the existing card for the other

maybe drag the bios out of the existing card for the other
indeed. do a bios dump from one card and then try flashing it to the other card.

Thanks all....worked!

But now another problem. the cards are in PCI-E x8 instead of x16 and all 3D goes darn slow.
Anyone got an idea? Have tried the newest BIOS on A8N and also reinstalled the ForceWare driver

When you use SLI, the two slots run at 8X. Single VGA runs at 16X. That's what the selector card is used for...

sli mode is two 8x pci-express lanes. you're not going to do two 16x pci-express lanes as the pci-e bus is limited to 20 lanes. with current generation video cards (and most probably those in the forseeable future) 8x is enough. your 3d is all darn slow for another reason most likely.

Try older ASUS BIOS versions.

Figured it out by the help from you guys! Flashed one of the cards with a new BIOS and they can now run in SLI.
