All, and I mean all, my boxes are 72 hour prime stable. I'm lucky if i get my 3500 to be 5 hours.

I haven't tried stock yet, I got this chip on thursday, all i know is if it fails stock tommorow when I try it I will seriously have to consider a newcastle.

I thought this wouldn't affect me, I mean I have a week 44 but damn i feel horrible.

EDIT: Now im really pissed, it's failing memtest test 3 at fail-safe defaults!

What board are you using?

I just passed 17hour prime blend at stock only to be rewarded with a bsod 2 hour after I stopped!!!

I'm on A8V

means your mem is faulty - start complaining about the winnie when you know your mem is working allright.

memtest first - if ok..then prime...if prime fails: complain :)

what has a BSOD two hours after priming todo with it ? The fact that you were able to prime/blend for 17hrs is good - look for your problems (if any) elsewhere. your cpu is fine. my $0.2

Nothing exactly related to the topic I admit...just ranting.
Not supposed to have bsod after 17hours priming rite?

Set it up to be anything but crap?

Set the memory timings to stuff suggested around here and try from there.
No windows for you until you finish your memtest :D
My defs leave my tccd @ 2-4-4-8, which they seem to HATE!. Or did you set them to the REAL settings and forgot to mention?

Prime is garbage IMO.. who lets there PC run prime for 2 days striat anyways and if so whta are oyu thinking.

If you game game and do day to day stuff and never crash what does prime failing after 2sec mean??

absolutly nothing :p:

Is there a correct way to use Prime95 are certain tests better

the P-1 test that takes 8-10hrs seems to run for 3.5hrs but I am crashing in the lucas-lehmer portion

I realize in I am game stable, video encoding stable I think I for my day to day stuff I am fine ..my last P4 2.4@2.9 could not run prime but was fine doing any task I threw at it...

but still is it real stable...???

I am going to run at stock speed and see if I crash? if so do I try to rma the chip??..retail 3200

anybody know why some winchesters are failing prime 95 at stock?

DevilsRejection

but memtest test #3 is entirely releeated to the processor, not the memory!

test 5 and 8 it can do at 245Mhz with no errors.

my m8's 3200+ can prime all day without errors but gets a error half way through a 8MB SuperPI @ 2.6Ghz.

prime95 is the most overrated software

yeah, I hardly use it now. I run Prime for about an hours if it goes with that then I run SuperPi 32M, if that goes then I start playing games like Far Cry. Plus the 3DMark run then its fine. 3Dmark passes, altho I haven't looped yet then I consider the system stable. I've had one problem when I was running at 2.4ghz and it was software related so...I'm stable...and I run at 2.4ghz all the time now.

Anyone know french? It looks legit and from the very basic french that I know it appears to be a app that tests your stability and allows you to upload the results of the test to a database.

How about you all drop the Prime95 rant?

craig, that looks like a spectacular program! Get people using that and there won't be this lying about stability. Will have to give that a try...

Only down side is that they mention that it might not be 100% accurate. That just gives people an opening to start pointless threads like these. I'm sure Prime isn't accurate 100% of the time either, but if you can get it to run consistently at any given speed, it's pretty easy to judge stability. Some people just don't want to face the facts...

OCCT is better than Prime for me. If you can pass the 'test' test i'm sure prime will pass

This software is developpe by tetedeiench on the hardware.fr forum (http://forum.hardware.fr/hardwarefr/OverclockingCoolingTuning/OCCT-0-91-out-Seule-la-0-91-peut-uploader--sujet-227556-1.htm)
They is two test :
- "Test" : OCCT will test your system for 30 minutes. If he find an error or the % comes down under the 90 %, OCCT will stop the test
- "Torture" : OCCT will test your system infinitely if you dont press stop :o

If you have ASUS Prob, Speedfan or MBM, OCCT will generate automatically a graph has the end of the test like here (http://www.ocbase.com/voirocctgraph_409.html) ;)

I have a Winchester and I use Prime like I always have. I don't have any problems.

All of you above :banana::banana::banana::banana:ing that prime fails while you are 3d-stable need to deal with it. Just cause your chip doesn't overclock as good as you want it to you don't have to put Prime down. This has been around for long - if you are OK that your system is not 100% stable then good for you. It doesn't make Prime a bad program for those of us who do want their system 100% stable.
