Got a Sapphire X800Pro Vivo. Managed to Flash it to a X800XT PE with Good O/C Results.

X800Pro Core:

Doubled checked that is was an "AD" core, uncut 4 pipe lines and 1.6ns RAMs. Watercooled with a MCW50 Swifty. Fixed a 10k VR to the Gpu core voltage and pumped 1.575 voltes. Increased Core/Memory to 625/590 from Default 520/560. Results are as below:

3D Mark03 w/ P350:

I got one also from newegg doing some testing now. Did the pencil gpu mod. Modded to 16pipes with ease. After seeing how far gpu will go will do mem mod.

wow, nice card m8! congrats! :toast: i heard something about a flash protection on the new vivo cards - does it exist or is it just a rumor? my powercolor vivo will arrive on monday, i hope it will clock like hell. :D

TEDY and althes, I got it from my local shop. But when I flashed it to a XT PE it was crap! The 4 pipe lines were bad. Even when I Flashed back to 12 pipe lines there were still Artifacts. So I RMAed.

I have heard that the New Cores cannot be flash. My friend just bought a Powercolor X800pro. Was able to flashed to a XT PE but could not O/C more then the default 520/560 Core/Mem.

ok, this is waht i did

i got my self a sapphire card, pro vivo, all i had to do was do a soft mod. in the begining there was a rumor that sapphire were making XT PE cards but just with a bios change, knowing the enuthatists would buy it and mod it, thus increasing sales. lucky me

ATI and other card makers actually laser cut teh pipelins, so that u have to pencil it.

Do you guys think its worth the extra money to get a Sappire X800 Pro Toxic, the extra cooling they put on makes you think they know what you're planning on doing.

IMO, NO! just get a normal X800 Pro Vivo. That's what I did. Cause it's not worth that extra cooling when you can get a better one. :)

My flashed vivo overclocks like crap. Anything over 540 on the core and I get lockups and vpu recovers. Lower clocks don't do this but give me flashing textures. bah.

I want a real x850xtpe when I get my dfi NF4 board. I would kill for 600/600.

506 you say? Sounds like we have similar cards. I can't do 520 clean either but around 507 and I'm fine.

Doesnt that copper dot in between those four dots in the top right mean your card is laser cut?

I'm that guy that owns that Powercolour X800 Pro VIVO.

too bad, core defaults at 1.39v, and i need to pencil it to 1.42 before it could stay stable for just 1 3dmark loop. prolong looping would just freeze it.

i'm going mad. might return to swop for a real XTPE

oh, and btw, my core is a 0440 "AD" core, just 5 weeks behind htkm1, and i'm getting this crap results!

Could be luck of the draw.
If ati is doing this crap already doesnt look good.

What pics do you want to see? Cause I just Flashed the Gpu Bios. There wasn't any hard mod done to the Gpu. The only pics that I have of the mod are the 12 and 16 pipe lines on AtiTools.

X800pro Default 12 pipe line:

After I Flashed the Bios, AtiTools detected 16 pipe lines:

As for the method of Flashing, I just followed from HERE. (http://paddy007uk.freeservers.com/VGAbios/ATI%20RADEON%20x800%20Pro%20VIVO%20FLASH%20GUIDE.h tm)

No, if it was Laser cut you would see a dent btw the Top and Bottom Copper dots.

Doubled checked that is was an "AD" core

AD core? Am I missing something here?

I didn't know the core of X800 Pro VIVO's was interesting.

I myself bought one about 5 months ago, won't go any higher than 525/570 with stock cooler and stock voltage, so I'm saving money for some better cooling. Less than a week ago a friend of mine bought one too, and his can do 565/580 with stock cooler and stock voltage. I thought it was just luck, but can I blame my bad overclock to my bad core? ;)

What about getting just a standard X800 XT Non-PE, does that have 2ns RAM or something?
And how do you do the pencil mod, any pics?

When you say craps out do you mean lockup? VPU recover or artifacts?

Mine is pretty bad above 500 as well. Flashing textures etc. I think it was a bad idea getting the vivo and flashing it. With all the hoopla at the beginning no one even once mentioned that the card clocks like crap and probably won't even do PE speeds clean. Afterall the Vivo's were never a production model and are just failed XT's from the beginning. From now on I'm going to get the top model right off the bad so I know the core is going to be strong.

A lot of people were planning on just buying an XT PE until ATI decides they want to make them harder to find than Bigfoot.

I've been lucky, mine on default volts did 580/600 on air... I've got it up to 627/609 with a waterblock and 1.48v :)
