I really hate to have my intial post to be, maybe, a newb one but oh well.
Why would the "lobby" test in 3dm2k1 be a good stress tester? I read in a thread in this forum where Oppainter said that he doesn't use memtest just lobby.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=47990
Is this the lobby in the free version?

Thanks.

yes the free version includes all 4 game test, the 3rd test High/Low is the one called "Lobby" a remake of the scene in Matrix one where Neo and his Girls storm the agents' building.

this test has proven to be dependant on system bandwidth which is usually decided by memory and chipset performance :)

btw they have a dedicated 3DMark forum here http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=79

how vice versa? Max Payne used Bullet Time introduced by the Matrix movie.

it's the MATRIX lobby scene done by the MAX PAYNE graphics engine

thank you :)

"Havoks" = the ragdoll physics :)

So what do the other tests prove, thereoretical speed and dx8 features?

Would it be advisable to run prime95 also?

Havok is a company that lisences their physics engine, it is not a term. http://www.havok.com/

So do these stress the hardware also or just the video card, "thereoretical speed and dx8 features"?
