Hello.
3 month ago I tried to figure out why my mates ABit ICG-7 Max3 wouldn't give his GEiL RAM more than 3v. For some reason it comes up with a floppy error when I save the setting for CMOS. At the moment it's running with the Tictac BIOS, and I of course also tried with the official one. Further more I also tried with a floppy drive connected and without.

What PSU? What other components does he have?

A lousy Q-Tec 550W PSU, a 3.2GHz P4 NW, GEiL PC3200 running at high timings, because it no matter what can run quicker than 2.5-3-3-6 I think it is.

I mean does he have like 5 PCI cards and 6 HDs or something like that with a huge power draw?

Nop, he has one HDD and no PCI cards what so ever. A DVD-RW and a CD-rom tray.

I have heard about problems with Max3 over 2.8 vdimm, I think a volt mod is needed to fix it, thats about all I know, sry :(

Yea, you need the VTT mod...my friend had this problem...quite annoying. Either do the mod yourself or you can send it in to Abit...it's a recall defect...they should fix it free of charge. However...when my friend sent his back, they sent the board back to him with no changes whatsoever...so I don't know if I would even trust Abit anymore. :/
