I got one of these today and installed it on my 3.0Ghz northwood @ 3.6ghz and with an ambient of 21C my max temp after 2 hours of prime95 isonly 41 degree! That is great, but the thing is so freaking heavy and huge. i am now afraid to move my comp around too much.

HSFs are getting so huge these days. Quite scary if you ask me. Also, I think its setting a rather dangerous precedent for HSF design. If more companies start making massive coolers (and certain companies make processors that need them coughintelcough) then we are bound to find ourselves dealing with a much greater number of motherboard compatability issues. Already did I have to relocate a capacitor on one of my value socket A boards in order to install one of the original zalman cnps HSFs. On another note, does the 7700cu work on the Lanparty 875T board? Because I might just buy that board and that cooler for my P4 550.

I am using p4c800 deluxe and it fit perfectly. You can check the zalman website for the list of incompatible motherboards.

I second that. Using the 7700B-ALCU because I don't want to mess up the mobo with the heavier CU. BUt this thing is quiet and does it job. I'm happy also. Same mobo as yours.

Im not so worried about weight, since ill be using this system caseless, so the board is flat on the table and the HSF is right ontop of it.
