Well after I pulled the heatspreader off and put watercooling on it hasent OCed aswell anymore. I replaced the heatspreader when I saw I was getting bad contact but it still doesent OC aswell. Now "auto" for the memory in by BIOS boots at 166mhz. Now I'm rebooting and getting OC related errors at stock speeds/volts. Is the chip gona die on me? Did I kill the memory controler? Was 1.72 to 1.77V fluxuations during benching on the Vcore damage it? Board is a stock VNF3-250.

Don't think you've damaged it, have you checked your ram - it might be faulty. Try flashing bios too.

Well it rebooted when I tried it again now it takes forever to post and it wont boot windows :\ I guess I'll try my CH5 but I think the chip is toast. Still dont understand how that would happen :stick:

Sounds like a bad WB contact to me.

Try reseating everything.

I doubt it could be bad block contact considering after alot of bad mounts I finally got it on well. I ran stable with this mount for like 2 weeks. Stock settings. BIOS temp was 30C.

I'm running an IDE HDD and all connections are fine.

try using bios from may. I tried newer ones and my memory was always being set at 166mhz. With 05/09 it works perfectly.

You were right I was wrong. Remounted with the IHS and stock heatsink. No post. I was about to unleash hell upon the "dead" chip when I saw some AS5 on one of the resistor dealies. Cleaned it off and I'm rollin now. I removed the SB sink to see it making crappy contact aswell. Replaced that with AS5. Hopefully I can run fine now and I'll be OCin again tommorow night in the cold. Maybe with better IHS contact and better SB cooling and cold air outside I can hit 2.6

Yeah... Now my secondary hard drive isint showing up in windows and under device manager it shows up and if I populate volume or whatever it says all the space is unallocated. If I lost all my stuff I'm gona flip :stick:
