i'm installing it on a msi neo2 and a 3000+ winchester................i'm using motherboard monitor for temps

i usually idle around 35 for an hour when i just start... then it idles at 40.. that doesn't sound right though, i remeber seeing some one benchmarking this cooler and got 30 idle!

i'm using some artic silver and i dont know if i put on the cooler right or not. basically i put some pressure onto the CPU first then i hook the ram side of the cooler and then i do the other sides

doing it like that might squish the grease to one side???

EDIT: oh yeah i have a thermaltake silent cat on it

I basically installed the cpu. Added AS5. Put on the bracket that came with the XP-90. Installed the XP-90 with the hooks that are on the side of the memory first, then slowly bringing the other side down and securing the hooks. It can be pretty tough and you need to apply a bit of pressure so it seems scary but it will fit. I then put in the memorn in slot 1 and 2 then the booster in 4. Then add the clips for the fan and put the fan on. That's it!

that is from a PM i sent to a member, I asked him same question last week.

oh its very scary! all this pressure on the CPU on the edge :( but thats what i do... but why are my temps so high? i haven't washed the cooler after some crappy grease was on there from the stock cooler but still ... it shouldn't idle at 40! :(
