I read the [H]ardOCP 3.06 review last night and was amazed at the 3DMark scores they were getting. They showed an improvement of from about 16.9k to 17.8k just by enabling hyperthreading. I've seen no improvement from my testing and checking other reviews showed they weren't either. Even the 16.9k number at non-overclocked speeds seemed high. At some point this morning they changed the 17.8k number and now they're claiming the 17.8k number never existed! [H]ardOCP has always been one of my favorite sites, but the fact that they're now saying that anyone who says they changed the 3DMark numbers is a liar is just unbelievable.
Has anyone here seen substantial 3DMark improvement due to enabling hyperthreading? Doesn't 16.9k for a non-overclocked 3.06/P4PE and non-overclocked 9700 pro seem quite high?
Update: someone on the [H] SI forum asked if anyone else remembered the 17.8k number from last night. I replied that yes, he didn't imagine it, I'd definitely seen it also. (In fact I remember it well, since it motivated me do rerun a few benchmarks to see if I could get similar scores.) This thread was promptly deleted.
